Finished under the dome. Not bad, not his best.

THANK YOU for that mini review Bug, I was JUST about to order it for the Kindle!! BIG hug!!

I don't think he's ever done anything as good as It and Pet Semetary. It just got TOO easy for him after that..he seemed to be knocking out a novel a week there for a while!

But, I'll still read just about anything Stephen King..:blush:

MK: Yeah major cop out- but there were really so FEW possible solutions to the dilemma he set up.
Domino: My list of favorites are: Insomnia (I've had it bad enough to hallucinate so this story fascinated me) The stand (Reread so much my copy is dog eared) the First few Gunslinger novels. The later ones just got odder and odder- good but odd. among a few others. I've read every one of his books that I can find. He writes people you could know- then torments them. Who doesn't enjoy that?

Mac..I think I would have left it with the pleading and then had the dome lift..leaving everyone wondering. No explanation..no wrapped up with a ribbon ending. The last page could have been set in another small town in another country, just as a bird smacked the dome! Classic scifi.

Ahhh! MK!! Don't WRECK it!! (runs off to poke out at least one eye so no more 'spoilers' can happen..)

I just read 'Under the Dome" too. I liked it, but I agree, not his best.

I'm reading "His Dark Materials"trilogy right now. Everyone I know read that in their teens, but I guess I missed it, lol. I"m on book 2, its really good.

Btw, if anyone is looking for an e-reader, Woot has the Sony Reader(which I have and love) for $109! Its refurbished, but they have a great reputation.

Here's the link;

I have been on a James Rollins kick lately..down loaded some and listened to some from the library
Excavation, Altar of Eden, Deep Fathom, Subterranean, Ice hunt and Amazonia. He wrote Indianna Jones and the Crystal Skull BTW.
Good techo thrillers..lots of adventure and fluff for the brain!

Saw the bookworm thread in passing and decided to crash the group MaryKay! I'm reading a wonderful Horror/Sci-Fi novel called The Passage by Justin Cronin.This is the first book of a trilogy.....Fantastic read! Takes me back to the early days of Stephen King!! If you like Vampires(sort of)and End of the World Apocolypse books that span centuries....This is the book for you!!

Highly rated at Amazon.com
