So many books, so little time!!! I mostly like murder mystery with some weird thrown in, not so much on the romance stuff. So here is my list of favorite authors:
Stephen King...I kept Under the Dome on my table for 2 months before I read it, just savoring the thought of getting to read it. Most of the time I can't do that I usually read them as soon as I get them.
Dean Koontz, love the Odd Brothers
James Patterson
John Sanford
JD Robb aka Nora Roberts the In Death series
Nora Roberts the Sign of Seven Trilogy on book 3
Janet Evanovich
Lisa Gardner
Patricia Cornwell her earlier books
Sandra Brown

Thanks to all of you for the list I now have of books to buy, golly geez what to buy first.

A really great read is 'Swan Song'. It's a kind of creepy/supernatural story about what happens after the nuclear bombs are dropped. Scary in the 'real world' aspect of it on it's own, but there's also a paranormal twist to it with a 'demonic' entity tracking the good guys down. It's a good, looong book that always disappoints when you turn the last page!!

I also love 'River God' by Wilbur Smith. It's about life and times in ancient Egypt. Another loooong one that's hard to put down!! :)

Check out his website:
The Robert McCammon Web Site

Patricia Cornwall has some books or stories coming to T.V soon. I think Lifetime T.V.

Another Author I like is James Rollins..he does some fun adventure somewhat spooky stuff!.

I'm reading Patricia Cornwell's Unnatural Exposure right now (again). I've read all of the Scarpetta books but none of the others. The movie that I saw on lifetime was one I had never read. Decent movie though. I wish they would do some of the Scarpetta ones.

Don't know how someone got through high school without To Kill a Mockingbird... awesome book!

If anyone likes fantasy I would recommend the Eragon books by Faolini. I have not seen the movie but the books are excellent. Can't believe he wrote those when he was so young, I'm jealous, lol.

Also, the Landover series by Terry Brooks. It starts with Magic Kingdom for Sale and all of them were whimsical and wonderful.

Cormwell has a second mobie this month. I missed the first one. No fear they rerun everthing 60/11 times!

Going south was a good one too!

I liked the Eagon books 1 and 2..I just couldn't get into 3, now I hear he is going for 7.

I read Magic kingdom year and years ago..again the first couple were cute, then it turned into a formula. I gave up after 2 or 3 I think.

Just listened to breathless. I loved the 1st 2/3's. It was really coming together and becoming a true Dean Koontz novel. Then the 3 part was just let's tie up loose ends and have dinner. Gotta go! I was left scratching my head..like is there going to be a second book..what happened to so and so. You don't type the End..with out a proper ending!

The bad guys though near the good guys didn't confront them..the good guys diidn't get to have any kind of confrontation..with any body except some homeland clowns. None of our good guys and hero's got any heroing in at all.

I had wondered MK the reviews for Breathless werent clear,, thanks for the input..

Am loving Stephen King dark towers series,, very dark, mystical, parallel worlds and time lol lol... am on the second book... and it's really a twisted tale of no limits... is not a children book, but not over the top or distasteful on the adult nature...

Well, one author I couldn't do without is Jean M Auel. The Earth's Children series. Clan of the Cave Bear et al
It takes her forever to write the next book, but they are *so* worth it!

I read those and loved them too! I went through three I think? Is there a 4th yet? I have read a lot of series: Wheel of Time, The goodkind series, this earth series, the Terry Brooks series... I always get to the end of the last one that's out and then before the new one comes out I forget about them.... ahhhh getting old SUCKS sometimes, lol

Jean Auel is another of my favorites! But I can hardly stand to wait so long between books too!
So far (I think) the Clan series has 4 books:
Clan of the Cave Bear
Valley of Horses
Mammoth Hunters
Shelters of Stone.

Personally, I'm waiting for the book that explains the dream Ayla keeps having about seeing her 2 sons meeting! I want to know what happens!!!!
I found a website once that explained the next book should be along fairly soon. Now I can't remember what site it was! lol! @#$!*

You missed one... Plains of Passage... came after Mammoth Hunters. There are several websites up that deal with the series, and one where her son posts once a year or so. Looks like another year before the next one, and then supposedly there will be a final one after that.
She's getting on up there in age, though, so I always wonder if she will make it to finish the series. She is not a fast author! But she is one of my favorites. I get the series out every few years and read them from the beginning.

I use paperbackswap.com to get many of my books, it's an awesome site in my opinion. You put up books that you no longer want and swap them, it's just like the Pay It Forward here type of deal.

Any way...

I am reading the House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast and love love love it. I've read Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed and Hunted. I couldn't get Tempted or Burned on Paperbackswap because they are so new but ordered them from Walmart and will get them this week and I can't wait.

While waiting on those books I've read The Domestic Goddes by Sophie Kinsella and I am reading Can you Keep a Secret? by the same woman. Theses are pretty good, give me the giggles and are sent in London. She is a British writer so it makes it interesting with the words she chooses.

I've never been a reader really but I really enjoy reading now. I also love Nora Roberts, she has some really great books also.

I read that series too! I would be curious to hear what you think of the last book once you are done... If you like those you might take a look at the Claudia Gray series Evernight and another that I really liked was the
Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare ... fast light reading ... I am a huge fan of Paperback Swap myself and you may be able to find them there if not at the library! :)
