I am supposed to work tomorrow night but I still get hit with waves of intense emotion and don't know how long I will make it through my shift. My boss told me not to worry about work but I can't do that.

Yeh. My team lead looked at me like I was nuts when I started crying Monday night. Customers were staring. Boss sent me home.
That's immaturity on the part of your team lead. The customers staring wasn't a big deal either, I bet they sensed that something bad had happened and were in sympathy with you.
I had told the manager but he hadn't mentioned it to the team lead. He told APA (loss prevention) to keep an eye on me, that I would be emotional. When Abdul seen me crying he walked over and made sure I was ok. Jessica, team lead, had no clue until the boss told her to count my drawer down and send me home. They are a supportive group for only working with me a few days.

I went into work today and got sent home before even clocking in. Boss told that my family needed me more than Academy did and not to worry about my job, it would still be there.

That would explain all of the funny looks I got. But, it was pork-flavoured and everything.
