Last place you were asked to stop vaping?

I've vaped in the ER, doctors offices, police station, restaurants, movie theaters, and convenience stores. I've never been asked to stop vaping by someone I didn't know. My girlfriend asked me to not vape in the police station (she didn't want us to get in trouble). Other than that the only time anyone has asked to to stop vaping was when my dad told me not to vape Virginia fire cured because he thinks it smells like "cat piss"

I don't vape discreetly, but I don't vape recklessly either. I blow clouds when I feel I won't get caught and hold it in other places. I'm not an idiot about it. It looks like smoke so in places where smoking bans are enforced I openly vape but I hold in my hits. It is the image of clouds that really gets people going. I've found that even if someone sees me put my provari to my lips and take what looks like a puff as long as I don't exhale anything no one will care. I consider cig free areas to be considered cloud free areas.

it was almost 4 years ago and it wasn't me but everyone at the center I worked at. When the center opened only I and another person in my department vaped and we were discrete about it. however when we managed to convert half of the center into vaping everyone started vaping inside and the business banned indoor vaping (thank god it was 2011 and cloud chasing wasn't a thing yet or someone would have set off a smoke alarm as they are laser based in that center). I have been very careful about where i vape and respect rules and regulations. that said i have no qualms about blowing clouds in my car or at home or anywhere where the owners allow me to

The last and only place I was ever asked to stop was in my living room by my wife. Not saying I stopped, but I was asked.

I don't vape anywhere that doesn't allow smoking. I just go outside. But the other day in a restaurant that was actually fairly empty, I was blowing it into my drink glass, it just kind of hangs around in there for quite awhile, the staff seemed amused and didn't tell me to stop lol

Old lady way in front of me told the movie attendant somebody was smokin'. I told her "I'm not smokin'". Guess she felt I was harming her somehow.

I had a confrontation at a local coffee shop

New owners had just taken over (they had been barristas there previously: mother/daughter team). I had been vaping again for about a month: even did so while talking to them. The husband was there this time (first time I've ever seen him), and he comes over and VERY assertively informs me "there's no smoking in here!"

I reply that I didn't know. He took this as me being argumentative "I know my wife has told you". Ummm... no. "Then my daughter has". Again... no

Talked with his daughter later, explaining that they either need to pull in his leash or have him stay away from customers. He's been VERY polite ever since

I wish I had just been asked to stop vaping. I was in Walmart today and this woman that worked there came up behind me yelling " That's considered a tobacco product and you can't use it in here!" I just shook my head and walked away as I put my vaporizer in my pocket. Apparently, that wasn't good enough for her so she screams " Excuse me, sir" like I didn't hear her the first time. I told her, "It's in my pocket." My girlfriend kept me from telling her what I thought about her and her approach. Like she couldn't walk up and calmly ask me to not vape in the store. She had to scream at me for some reason. Very unprofessional. Very annoying.

NEVER.... as an EX smoker, I am used to NOT using my Vape, where one would NOT smoke. I respect the ignorant opinions and beliefs, for the most part, of those who do not share my opinions regarding Vaping and Smoking. Call your Vape a Vaporizer all you want, to the WORLD, it is still a CIGARETTE. After 50-60 YEARS of constant reminders of how BAD cigarettes and SMOKING is. Vapor LOOKS and in some cases smells like something, therefore to MOST people it will be assumed it is smoke. It will be kinda hard to teach people that our safER version of smoking is actually SAFE. We do not even KNOW that yet. Although I do now Vape in the House, Stopped smoking inside, when kids were born, 30 years ago. God, it's nice to enjoy a "Smoke" in the evening, watching the news. No more Donning the snow suit or sweating my ... off, to have a Smoke.

FWI - We have no right to VAPE or Smoke or even BE, when we are on somebody elses property. A little respect for others and sf control goes along way. The customer is always right, that does not mean they can't be told NO.

I use my discretion and when in doubt ask if it's okay. Although a few times when I've been stuck for extended times, I'll sneak off to the ladies room for a quick vape. I was asked once, in a bar that sold disposable e-cigarettes, to step outside with mine. I said okay and went out with the smokers, when I came back in the manager told me that the waitress was mistaken. I hadn't brought it up, although I did think it was weird that they were selling their own versions and figured maybe that my clearly superior vape was making their little minis look like the pieces of crap they are.

Mostly vaping is met with curiosity more than hostility. After my last chest x-ray and check up my doctor wanted me to show her my PV, how it worked and had me use it right in front of her. It was very weird to vape on command in the exam room.

It's happened to me only once which was in a concert theater. It wasn't because I was vaping eliquid but instead because people ruined it by vaping that very popular illegal substance.

I don't really vape around people because my juice leaves big clouds, but it's the first one I've tried that doesn't make me hack until I throw up. My boyfriend has bad asthma and he can't handle the vapor, so I just got in the habit of going outside or a different area while we're outside. I also didn't smoke around people that don't, except my old house, I'd smoke anywhere cause the owners smoked in it the whole time they lived there. I don't vape inside unless it's my own place, and even then, I try to be respectful of others. In public areas like parks and what not, I'll just walk a little away so I don't blow clouds in people's faces.

I've vaped almost 3 years and never had anyone ask me not to vape except my brother, who has hyperactive airway while we were in the car, and my Mom, who has advanced COPD.

I gotta say, I love my Mom and my brother, way more than some instant gratification from some piece of vaping gear, so yes, I always comply with their requests if it causes them discomfort. They are pretty nice to me, too.

The people in my life are just more important to me than vaping. I really couldn't imagine doing something around loved ones if it really bothered them.

As for out and about, I am not tied to my PV any more than I am tied to having food in my mouth all the time.....I guess I'm just used to not being able to do whatever I want wherever I want........to me there is a time and place for everything, and you use your Judgement to make those decisions as they arise.

So my first question would be did it really cause them physical discomfort, or were they just afraid that it might?

If you say it really did cause them physical discomfort them then that will be the end of a potentially long conversation.
But I'd still wonder why it bothered them when it doesn't seem to bother anyone else.

And when I say long conversation, I think you know where this can go.
We agree on a lot of things, but at the heart of it all there is a basic disagreement.

And I am now ready to discuss this in depth with someone I respect who also has the ability to have a respectful conversation.


Unfortunately, I won't be around much longer today, so I'll probably have to see where this is headed tomorrow.

Although I've never been asked to stop I've been told by multiple transit and campus police that people are ignorant and complain about the "smell" and suspiciousness of my PV and doesn't want me smoking inside the train stations because people complain. Needless to say if I'm on campus hangout out in a lounge with people I'll openly vape and people wont have a problem with it unless you blow it at someone.

I've never been told to stop vaping anywhere in the three years I've been doing it. If I'm at a restaurant or indoor place I'll stealth vape with the batt down my sleeve and hold in the vape so nothing is exhaled. A little ridiculous, but my GF hates the attention. Can't do that with my new Sigelei 100w Plus!
