Hey there, pez. Well how bad did your cap break? Did it just come off of the unit, wires attached/unattached..or did it go worse than that? I just had an issue where the top cap broke beyond repair and had to scour vendors and the classies to hunt one down to replace my broken one. They don't just sell the top caps anywhere, although it would make sense to, seeing as how the version 1 caps were just plastic and prone to breakage.

Looks pretty simple to me. The cap is just a cover for the metal top, similar to what's on the bottom. If your cap is completely destroyed, It looks to me like you could drill a hole in a bottom cap and use that on the top. There's already a pilot hole in the center. The diameter of the tube is the same. The depth of the cap is very close. The worst that could happen is that you end up with a silver band below the new top cap. I'm pretty sure some vendors started stocking replacement bottom caps. You might try Volcano. If you can't find a replacement bottom cap, you can use your existing one. It doesn't look that bad with a silver bottom cap.

Otherwise, if you're handy with a dremel, you can fabricate a new cap from some plastic and/or carbon sheeting.

it was caused from me falling asleep with it and rolling over on it in the night so I don't think warranty would cover it, Why they would use plastic end caps is beyond me to begin with the new lava tube 1.5t has metal caps and should be here today but i want to fix this to use as a back up as its only about a month old and i really like it with a vivi nova tank its my fav setup so far and ive tried alot of e-cig mods and setups

They use plastic caps on the bottom because they're "blow out" caps. See how they're attached to the metal battery cap? Those plugs will soften and allow the plastic cap to blow off under pressure if the battery vents, exposing the two additional vent holes in the metal cap.

A lot of people don't realize that and epoxy the plastic cap back on if it comes off, thinking they have fixed their LT. Mistake. They've just disabled a safety feature.

On the top, they probably use a plastic cover just for manufacturing and assembly reasons, particularly to avoid press fitting a wired connector into aluminum, which simplifies assembly immensely.

Be that as it may, that version definitely has a problem. Mine came unglued in 1 day and I didn't sleep on it or anything. I received a replacement and this time it was version 2. If you see the difference between v1 and v2 it's obvious they realized they had quality issues.

"They" didn't realize any such thing because "they" are not even the same company. There is no V1 and V2. They are ALL V1. The vaping community dubbed them V1 and V1.5 and V2, causing great confusion. There is the LRider version, the Young June knockoff and the J. Lin knockoff. They are all V1 of their respective companies.

BTW, Young June and J. Lin have their own issues, arguably worse than a top cap that can come unglued.
