This is my third week vaping and almost completely off analog cigs. The hardest part is when I get up and have my morning coffee. I am looking for a big hit that is as close to a real cig as they come. I am looking at this lava tube on volcano and i have looked around for price on similar products and they seem to be the best. I am going to use at home so the fact it is pretty big device does not matter. (sounded a little weird) I just want some input from anyone who has used the lava tube. From what i have read it gives you a great hit of vape. Any help?

Get the Apollo VTube and use the code vtube30 for a 30% discount. I have a pair of them and they work well. They are the original 2.5 amp limited version but they get the job done. The black, silver, or red will be $52.47 shipped...

Apollo VTube Kit

Be sure to order extra batteries (Apollo's are a bit high) as it only comes with one...

I have the original version 1 lava tube and it's very good. Just needs the battery charged before it gets to low. I'm certain that the later versions (1.5, 2.0) are even better as they can display the remaining battery and measure resistance. Some of the 2d generation models had a problem of accidental firings, but as far as I can tell, the accidental firings are avoidable and have been corrected. Lavatube is a VV battery and what you put on top of it is most important of all. Give a lot of consideration to the juice system you will use. This will make or break whatever your choice in batteries.

I'm sure you are about to get a lot feedback. IMO at least wait until the new version of the lava tube. But honestly you can get something better for just a bit more $.

Im still kinda new, but I have the LT and the provari and they are not in the same league. Now I got the ego c twist and it really made my LT obsolete.

Id encourage you to read/watch more reviews before buying the LT.

And when your Twist will no longer hold a charge - you toss a $25 device, I replace a $4 battery - food for thought.

No, it's not a Provari - doesn't cost as much as one either. I've read a lot of threads where folks buy cheaper devices as they're afraid to take their Provari out and about for fear of losing/damaging it - more food for thought...

that's damn good price on the Apollo. I just put a cart together for the VTube, DC Tank, and another battery for $75 using that code. That's a steal compared to the prices on some of the other units out there.

Not saying there is anything wrong with the LT. Just doesn't work great for me. I have the v1.
I'm also not saying get a provari or ego twist. I just encouraged the OP to do more research.

When you first try to replace smoking with vaping it's pretty important to have something that works for you. If you have to spend a bit more upfront, I think it's worth it for all the health benefits that you can't put a $ price on. Food for thought?

Another good choice if you using at home most of the time would be to look into a Passthrough. Alot of Vapers overlook how awesome they can be. You can get a 650mah or 1000mah ego passthrough for about $20 and Use it connected to a computer or wall outlet . What makes them great is you can also dissconect the cord and it holds a charge just like a normal battery. I use mine in the car plugged into my cars USB , and when I get to w/e I'm going I still have a fully charged Battery. Just my :2c: If your using it at home (by a computer or close to outlet mostly) but still like some portability look into a passthrough.

I have a Brand new Lavatube mini and Love it so far. My only suggestion is ditch the batteries it comes with . They ship with Garbage. Replace them with IR AW either 18650 for the full size LT , or 18350 for the Mini.

I went with a LT straight from the mini-cigs. Didn't really regret it, the only thing I'd recommend: Get the tube from Apollo with the 30% off and take the 30% ure saving and get a second backup tube (mod only, you won't need batteries and stuff with the second one. These things WILL malfunction (I had 2 of them do that on me within 2-3 months). Apollo has a 1 year replacement warranty, if they go belly-up, send it in and they'll send you a new one. I say 2 because you'll need a backup while one is in the "tube hospital". I moved on to a Provari just a few days ago but I won't tell you to skip the LT and go for the Provari, the LT will most likely work just fine for you. Provari only if you can afford the $250..... It's the holy grail of mods, I think, but it IS pricey! :)

I've never used the DCT tank that Apollo (and everyone else) sells. I've heard it's not that great.

If you get a VTube from Apollo, you might consider getting the chrome or stainless version. Look at the pics on Apollo's site. I've got the SS and I like it. It's more expensive than the aluminum ones, though.

I'm so over the bickering about lavatube vs. provari vs. whatever. It's all a matter of personal preferences and priorities. Who cares what someone else likes or prefers?

I agree, which is why I said I WON'T recommend the Provari, especially for a total Newbie. LOL! The LT is a great device, I just learned that I needed more than one. When I bought the first one, I only had one so I was in a crunch when it broke. I had to hurry and order another one or go back to my mini, which I didn't want to do. So, I held off on sending it back (it was still working but the LCD display was partially unreadable) until I got the second tube. The Chrome one shorted out on me last weekend but both Apollo and Volcano have a 1 year warranty so it's not much of an issue IF you have a backup. Volcano pays for the return shipping but the tube is more expensive. With Apollo, return shipping is on you but the tubes are MUCH cheaper and identical to the Volcano tubes.

My Apollo was ordered today. I'm quite excited for it since I have had a few minor things with my kgo where I could tell VV will be nice (clearomizers working GREAT on a fresh charge and not so hot on a worn down battery, etc). Great price to get into VV and still have swappable batteries. I went with the full size, it's a HUGE battery...should last about forever :)

the only downside that ive seen to the LTs are the 2.5 amp cut off. looking at reviews of the vv on the tube it shuts off with some dual cartos. im not sure if they fixed this on newer revisions but that was enough to tell me that i don't want one. I'd rather have something that i could use anything on and not be limited. that's just my .02

I've only had my stainless steel VTube for about 10 days, but I've figured out that the 2.5amp cutoff is not important, and all the hand-wringing about it is a tempest in a teapot. The simple answer is just don't use dual coil anything.

I'm using my VTube with Vivi Nova tanks, using either the 2.4ohm or 2.8ohm heads, and it produces clouds of vapor. It is great to be able to adjust the voltage up or down as necessary to get the vape just right. For $73 (for the stainless version), I think it's a great buy - just slightly more than the last carton of cigarettes I bought when I was smoking.

The dual coils are not a good option at lower voltage no matter what you are using

If you do go with one of the 'Lavatube' generic mods, and you also want to run DCTs or similar, be sure to order a shorty sealed 510-510 adapter. This will eliminate a design problem with the 510 connector/end cap clearance.

It appears that the VTube uses a different end cap than the others, so may not be an issue. I don't own one of the VTubes, so can't verify.
