If that pic in that link is real and I'm not 100% sure it is it will be cool..the pic has been posted a couple times in this forum I even posted it..what worries me is the pics of the LCD screen are small and dark so easily it could be faked. Put a screen like that in the LT add in a chrome or stainless body with a 3a or higher regulator and the low cost of these LT's and it's going to be hard for other VV devices to compete. Within a couple months or so we will know though as I've read V2 LT's are supposed to be here by the end of May and the V1.5 by the end of this month :)

Based on the various things floating around the V2 appears to be the new "style" with a built in ego adapter on the connection end, and a different over all look/design of the tube. It will be strange as the SS ones from apollo will be V1 internals with a V2 body. The V1.5 will be V1.5 internals with a V1 body and the later V2s (not the ones expected from apollo shortly) will have the V1.5 internals with a V2 body. Somebody will need to write up "decode your LT" type cheatsheet!!

That's why I'll wait awhile before buying one..I already have a V1 I'm happy with and I still am happy using my eGo's too..so I'll wait until the V2's flood the market and the price drops before buying my 2nd one ;) Anyways it shouldn't discourage someone from buying a V1 or 1.5 as even the 1 works pretty good.

But if you were buying a 2nd one or more than one I would buy one wait a couple months for another..the nice thing though is even if you bought a couple these are inexpensive enough you could buy a couple more in a few months if you just bought the tube...

pretty much my strategy.
I'm happy with my V.1 for now. love the black but when the new body(er... end caps) comes out with V.2 internals, I'm grabbing it.
I just wish they put a silver power button on the SS. one tiny rough red on all silver looks weird.

Agreed, im very happy with the v1. I dont use dual coil's so the v1 has been a great experience for me. The new features are all nice to haves, not needs for me.

The nice thing about the 1.5 and 2 would be the ability to take all batteries.

If the 1.5 or the 2 comes out the gate with a mini version ill probably jump right on it as i'd like to have something smaller to take out of the house with me.

I saw a pic of one that looked to have metal +/- buttons and they didn't look like the plastic silver ones..I think if we asked for metal buttons maybe they would make them eventually. Really they just could be pressed chromed tin that goes over a plastic button and I would be happy.

Idea:

Buy one of these, one SS vtube from apollo, gut the internals, profit.

Yeah I've already thought about taking one apart or buying the board from one of these LT's and building my own tube mod..I've been looking for guidance as to how to pull one apart for awhile without destroying it..I don't have the money to buy one to pull apart right now though. I'm sure as these are mass produced in China there probably is a way to buy the internals..the Chinese like to make money and they could sell V2 boards for a profit...

I've been saying this for months now. The high priced tube mods are going to be hard pressed to continue getting the prices they command as more realistic VV 18650 mods continue to compete. I'd love to have the Provari, but I see the quality and functionality of under $100 VV tube mods arriving. The gap is still there, but it's narrowing rapidly.

I watched as $69.96 DVD players eroded the market after I bought my first player at almost $400. Nowadays, DVD players are commodity items. VV tube mods are sure to follow. After all, it's not that hard to beef up an aluminum tube and add the mass produced electronics. The parts are beginning to show up on the market as we speak.

According to L-Rider reps: They are not making a V1.5, the V2 is the upgraded body, not internals. V3 is still being architected. They are also not making the SS version, they are being manufactured by another factory.

Yeah I've read that..oh well V1.5 and V2 or V2 and V3 either way they are improvement's. Also these things are being made by other manufactures in China..the thing about China is pretty much everything is government controlled so I'm sure they use the same original design specs in all the factory's.

But you could also see one improve on the design one way and another another way. These different "company's" "compete against each other" while sharing info if one or the other does better either way China makes money (at least that's my opinion).

Really I would rather be buying this stuff in the US because I know what China is spending this money on but no one is selling a competitive product..at this point the closest products are over 2x the price. If I had any real money to invest I would think about seriously building my own VV that would sell for a reasonable price where most of the parts were made here. I think it can be done if the person making it only wanted an honest profit.

The electronics aren't hard to come by. Design in a nice looking tube mod may be a little more of a challenge, but that's just a matter of the R&D department having the blessings of management. We will see what the people want soon, IMO.

This is a 3 amp circuit with VV capability. Add the electronics for interfacing and display and you are in the race. The rest is all a matter of generating a ROM controller, anyway, and it's not exactly rocket science to write, burn, and mass produce a ROM with the program and an SCR style solid state controller to replace the hardware potentiometer and read ohms and current.

Yeah I've read a ton in the modding forum about VV mods..I was looking into building my own VV device with a display and a digital pot..the chips are under $10. It didn't seem all that expensive for me to make my own device I probably could put together a SS tube with a display for under $100 maybe as lot as $50. But instead I found it easier to just buy an LT. From my research if you were to mass produce I can see you could profit from selling a device for under $100 where most of the stuff in it was made here.
