Hi Walker. As best i can thell the Lavatube from volcano is the one you are speaking about. At the volcano site they list the AW IMR batts as included. The apollo site lists"battery" but i do think its a sanyo battery that is in the picture. I'm fairly certain the tube mods that you have picked came out of the same factory but the accessories are probably determined by the vendor i would have to guess. Also Volcano lists 1 year warranty BUT i would contact them for clarification as to what that covers on the lavatube. Good Luck. Happy vaping.

I bought the Apollo VTube, which is a legit Lavatube, simply for the price ... if $ is no object, you could buy from Volcano and get the same Lavatube, including the correct AW battery ... I have never purchased from Volcano ... Apollo included a charger and extras, but a non-AW battery ... Apollo service was quick and professional, a no-hassle purchase for me ... Apollo does include a 1 year warranty, that sealed the deal for me

afaik, all variations of the Lavatube are made by L-Rider and imo, the different naming was a marketing ploy to sell certain naming rights for a limited exclusivity selling period, for which Volcano was the first to buy for their North American exclusivity period ... bottom line, numerous names selected by the vendors, but they are all made by the same company, L-Rider ... the reason for the slightly different appearance, name tag, no name tag, different colored o-rings, slight difference in electronic functions, etc is again, due to marketing or minor changes during production, but it is basically the same product with basically the same electronics ... they all certainly work the same

altho I purchased the VTube/LT, I placed orders for the newest 2000 mah AW IMR 18650 batteries from another vendor ... there are several different vendors where the newest, correct AW IMR 18650 2000 mah can be purchased, Empire Mods and Super-T, among several others ... all are priced between $10-$14, approximately ... I suggest getting the correct battery asap, simply from a safety standpoint

I ordered mine from totally wicked for 59.99 with charger and 2 batts. The batts have TW wrapper on them, so I can not vouch if they are AW or not. I know they work great, but they do appear to be Lithium PCB protected batteries and that is certainly what the charger I got with them is for. It does appear to be a true lavatube. For 60$ you will not find a nicer VV mod. I would agree with those above, in that they all came from the same place. There has not been enough time yet to clone it. Give china another month or so and you might need to worry about knock-offs.

no, it is not dated ... the only thing ppl seem to complain about is that you can't push it beyond its stated limitations !!

iow, the LT will re-set itself, for example, if you try to use a 1.25ohm cart at 6v ... of course, you would pop the cart or damage the LT ... some ppl don't like to be told what to do, even if the limitation is there for their own safety

you can over-think anything, nothing is perfect including the LT ... buy a Provari, Buzz Pro or Infinity Pro, they ain't perfect either

The only changes that have been made to the LT from the first batch until now have been cosmetic or mechanical. I have not seen anything that indicates the electronics have been altered. What comes with the unit is at the discretion of the vendor when they order...

Cosmetic changes that have been made are: +/-/power buttons changed 3 times... 1st round silver an red painted black plastic... 2nd rnd black +/- and red painted black plastic power button... 3rd rnd black plastic +/- buttons and red plastic power button...

Mechanical changes have been: Vent hole being drilled through some had them some didn't Volcano one did and the threads on the end cap were lubed or no-laxed to take care of a grindy feel...

Left out the 510 connection being not straight on many since that was more of a assembly QC issue that has seemed to not happen any more...

Electronic issues like max voltage dropping as the battery drops are still there... Automatic cut off when the battery gets to 3.3v seems to be hit and miss for some mine works...

FYI... Most of the minor changes that have happened were at the request of Volcano so they claim and have been carried over to all the devices made...

Edit... There may have been a change that I am un aware of but I don't think so since I have followed the LT threads pretty closely since they first started popping up in Aug.

thanks for the detailed clarification, Scotay87 ... I was unaware of all those changes

I believe in due diligence, but for a few 20 dollar bills what do ppl expect ? ... I do know it works as well as my costlier Infinity Pro, of course there are differences, safety features, functions, support, repair, etc ... but with a 3ohm cart, at 4.5 volts, there is no difference in performance ... for me it has been good value for the money, so far
