So my lavatube arrived today. So far I'm pretty impressed. Nice warm vapour and good th. I'm using 2.7 ohm boge cartos and 2.5 ohm 510 atties for dripping. For the Boge cartos I'm vaping at 5.0 volts and so far no issues. For my 510 atties I tried 5.0, but pretty sure I burnt the .... out of it. I backed it off to 4.5 volts - still works well, but I'm curious if anyone has any tips for volt settings using a 2.5 ohm atty for dripping? It still tastes a little burnt. I'll prob throw it out and spark up a new one at 4.5 as I think the 5.0 setting is a little too high for 2.5 ohm atties? I'm definitely not new to vaping, but this is my first time using a VV mod.

It's all about wattage.
Square the voltage, divide by the resistance. (5^2)/2.5 = 10 watts, which is indeed quite high. 4.5 volts would give you 8.1 watts, which is more reasonable. Imo, anything above 9 watts is a bit high.

Start at the lowest setting and work your way up 'till you find the sweet spot. Wanting to use a higher voltage is natural when you first begin using a VV device, but as you found out, it's not always a good thing.
Like juice, people will have different preferences when it comes to voltage settings regardless of what resistence you're using, so it's best to decide for yourself. Just start low and work your way up to avoid the burnt taste.
You'll also find that different juices react better at certain voltages even though the atty may be identical. Just keep playing with it and enjoy your new toy.

I have several VV mods and I usually use 4 volts to maybe 4.4 volts on anything that is not rated as HR . I even use 3.7 volts alot on LR cartos . I some times crank the voltage to extend the life of a degrading carto but not on a fresh one .
I find that cartos can handle higher voltage as long as they're kept good and wet. A carto tank is best for this because it'll keep the filler (and therefore the socks) well stocked with juice at all times (as long as the tank has juice). I've been running a 2.6ohm single-coil SmokTech carto in a tank at around 5.5v with good success. I do find that at 6v it starts off good but can start to get a slight burnt taste after a while, so backing it off to 5.5v (which is around 11+ watts) seems to work a lot better.
Right now I'm using my Boge 2.7 ohm cartos @ 4.5 volts and it's working well. Great vapour production and TH. I know I can crank it up even more, but I find I have to top off too often when going 4.8 + which to me defeats the purpose of a carto. To each their own I guess, but for right now 4.5 is my sweet spot
