I've been vaping now almost two months, and have moved through all the usual stages. Now I'm primarily using clearomizers and a couple tanks. My issue is that to one extent or another everything leaks. Since I'm relatively new to this, I have a dozen or so liquids that I'm trying out; so tanks, clearos may sit for a while. I've not been abble to keep them even upright on a battery for any length of time, because they tend to make a mess. One even dripped all the way through one of my egos. Grrrrr...

I went and put plumbers tape on my Vivi Nova, which made the leaking worse.

Clearos seem to be dripping from the wick/coil. Right now I suspect cheap clears (Stardust and Bauway); but can someone point me to a less leaky alternative?

I have cartos, but find the taste better with the clearos and tanks.

I just hate to waste juice... it's like spilling beer... definitely criminal.

I find it a little odd that ALL of your delivery devices are leaking. Are you certain that you are filling them correctly, not getting any liquid into the center posts? How is the vapor delivery on these when they are not leaking? Are they gurgling while you vape?

Occassionaly one's vaping technique can affect devices to flood. Drawing too hard can cause this. Try a more gentle and consistant draw of 3-6 seconds long. This is just a suggestion, as I obviously haven't been able to observe your vaping technique.

Having said that, the string wicked delivery devices are known to be inconsistant and to leak occassionally. Purchasing brand name Vision or Kanger products might help with consistancy.

Also look into a quality cartotank. Set up properly, these don't leak at all, and I find them to provide much better flavor production.

You using "Vision" branded Vivi Novas? I use the 3.5ml ones and have a dozen of them .. never had a leak, the dry hits thing is very fixable, had that on some of my heads (usually the ones that have the big wick instead of the smaller diameter ones, but some of those as well do it), I use cuticle scissors and cut the slots bigger on the white insulation so its not constricting the wicks, works like a charm

Plus when you use these to take a hit you need to tilt like you are smoking an actual cigg, you prolly already know that though, when filling them, fill them all the way up to just under the silicone cap, you will have to swirl them once you get to half full with some liquids or just fill them back up, totally up to you

I just switched from clearos and vivis to DCTs and now to a Smoktech RDA 'octopus'. I was trying to get into tanks and away from dripping. The octopus is technically a dripping atty, but it holds so much liquid you don't have to drip nearly as much as the old method of 510 and 306 attys, etc. I find it similar to topping off a vision clearo or small 2.5ml DCT throughout the day. Flavor, vapor and throat hit is far superior to any clearo, kanger or DCT I've used. It can not leak standing up since the connector is sealed, the side air hole can leak if overfilled but it takes a day to figure out capacity and rectify that issue, when it did leak on me it was literally one drop stuck on the side. The design is so simple and efficient, I love it, essentially two main prices and WAY less finicky than anything. You can buy replacement coil/wick combos (comes preassembled plus a spare), or if you decide to go the DIY rout and twist your own, it might be one of the easiest rebuildables to work on, and the cost of wire and wick will be way less than replacement cartos or heads for clearos. The only issue I'm finding is the cap isn't snug enough that you won't end up popping it off in your pocket, eventually, but I haven't yet and it should be a simple fix of replacing the o-rings for fatter ones. Mine has not leaked a drop overnight nor has it leaked into my batteries.

I've been using them for 4+ months and no leaks. If the head isn't screwed down tight you may have leaks OR if the tiny O Ring on the head is missing or damaged. Also if the larger O Ring in the base is missing, damaged or twisted that would cause leaks. With the small metal piece in the silicon cap that goes over the head make sure the "flat part" is facing down.

My leaking problem is primarily when I leave them alone for a few hours; always upright.

take pliers and tighten the nova.. problem fixed. no need for plummers tape.
Huh??? Do not leave them flat. I think he was kidding.
Also, the clearos leak from the plastic tank moving. This usually happens when you put these in your pant pocket and you bend over and they bend, causing the tanks to flex around the collar and break the seal. But honestly they all leak, they are not designed to be sealed tight.
Just get use to leaking juices.. I deal with it at least once a week on just about every device. Forget what others tell you. The t3 and evod have better tank design and do not leak as much but your guaranteed to taste the juice, as it ends up in your mouth half the time.
If your getting dry hits on silka wick, perhaps ecig is not for you. lol.. It is not rocket science to figure out that your wick need to be saturated in juice in order to wick properly.. or maybe it is rocket science.

It sounds to me that you might need to just tighten things up!!! Check all your O-rings, check that the center post is tight, that the silicone cap is on properly and tight. Make sure the mouth piece is screwed down tight and that the o-ring isnt pinched, but seated properly and then tighten the bottom cap to the tank nice and snug?? ALL your delivery devices shouldn't be leaking??????? Maybe your hastey in the reassembly process??? IDK, but definately start out wiht the simple things first!!!

I've had this happen a couple of times with ce2 tanks, just sitting there overnight, 3ml of juice magically climbs the wicks and ends up dripping off the coil and down the air tube, was never really sure just what was goin on. I'd suggest first make sure everything is sealed properly. If your sitting it somewhere that it's getting warm, that might be a consideration, it would thin the juice and raise the pressure in the tank. I'm just guessing really.

The only time my Vivi Novas would leak was out of the top under the drip tip.. I found that that usually only happened when they would lay on their side overnight. I just made it part of my routine to get up in the morning and take off the drip tip and use a little piece of paper towel twisted up and stick it in the top hole where the drip tip goes because a little bit of liquid would pool up in there.. I also noticed that the longer you leave liquid sitting there, the more would show up.. I guess it's like a surface tension thing LOL

all i can say is:
- check o-ring on your drip tips..its like a shield that stop juices to get into your mouth when vape..in other word, leak..
- let it lay flat for long time is a bad idea for me,might easier way to leaked + flooded coil..just let it stay upright all the time and only make it flat when u vaping (let juices get to the coil faster) but not too flat if u know what i mean.
- always check ur drip tip and top cap..make sure those thing is tighten enough n seal the juices inside the tank.
- (for vivi nova w/ custom drip tip) always wipe juices in the top cap (between drip tip and top cap)..its always a juice there if u vape too flat..if u not clean it,possibly drip tip wont work 100% to seal the juice from leak because bottom part of drip tip might be wet n loose than tight enough to seal it.
- be careful when filling juice and cleaning process.

thats all..just share my experience..
cheers!

I have had really good luck with the Vivi Nova's. I had a purple one that leaked no matter what. Purchased a clear replacement tank and solved the problem. Of the 7 various color Vivi Nova's that I the smoke and purple tanks have leaked, while the clear, red and blue have been leak less. Good luck. Check when you clean and reassemble them that the seal are in place and you do not cross the threads.

I have never had one leak on me. I have a mini nova that I have used but the hits are too airy...not a leak though...the kanger T2's I used for a while and have several never leaked....the kanger t3's that I use almost exclusively have never leaked. I have the F16 but it doesnt like me...but has not leaked. Lucky here I guess.

i have about 10 vivi novas and the only ones i have had a problem with leaking is the newer ones with the aluminum tank but was pretty easily fixed if those are what you are using.
if you unscrew the tank from the rest and look at the top and bottom of the tank you will see the aluminum casing does not match up 100% with the inner plastic tank. easy fix run it over some 500 grit sand paper till the aluminum is flush with the plastic tank on both ends then rinse it off and your good to go.
