Ive had my Lemo2 for 6 months and for some reason, all of a sudden it's no longer giving me any flavor!! That has NEVER been an issue until a couple of days ago. Until then it's been outstanding. I have it built the same every time...24 ga 3 mm kanthal 5 to 6 wraps to be at .5 ohms. Cotton Bacon wick. Still blowing great clouds but no flavor. I've dumped the juice and rebuilt it 4 times same result. How is that possible? Very bummed at the moment.

It absolutely could be me. The mod is fine. I've gone up and down the scale from 22 watts to 30. 20 is too cool and 30 is very warm for me. I've tried the juice in my RDA and its a bit better but I need to change the wick in my RDA. It's pretty much used up. LOL. My other attys are great with the juice in them. Ones an Atlantis the other is a Bellus. I'm starting to think the juice is bad. But tried another juice with similar results. I feel like I'm going loony. Seems impossible for a tank to go bad. Sigh.

Also you might consider building the same coils as they come with which are around 3mm id and 7/8 wraps of 26g for 1.1 ohms. I learned really early to just build the same as what it came with to get the best out of it.

Interesting. Mine came pre-built with a .5 ohm 3.0mm 24g 5/6 wrap. Hmmm. I may try the lower gauge and see what that does. More wraps covers more cotton so that may help. Thank you for that.

Well thats weird, that yours came with a 0.5 build in it, maybe they changed that since i got mine early last year.

Lol, talking of wrap numbers i remember the dna40 days and having to cram 12/13 wraps of nickel in it :)

This thread is pretty much done but one more comment. After using the spaced coil as opposed to the micro coils I had been making, I get ZERO dry hits, the flavor has increased dramatically, and I can power up to 35 watts (over that is too warm for me), but I'm going through a tank at warp speed!! I did have a leak for the first time ever but used too little cotton, which was my normal cotton previously, because I had to keep the channels super clear or I'd get endless dry hits. Hope this helps someone.

I remember the days when most people used a bolt to wrap a coil. Following the threads to get spacing worked well and served to cover more of the wick to atomize more juice. I've been doing the heat and squeeze thing when I wind a coil. I'll have to search for a 3mm bolt with coarse threads and try that again.

All you have to do is wrap the wire around your screw driver or drill bit with pretty large spaces then use your fingers to compress the coil down till theres no spaces. Then just let go. It will spring back with perfect spaces every time

I use a 5 step coil mandrel to wind my coils. It's wide enough to do that.

A while back (a couple of years or more ago) people were using coarse thread bolts to do that. You'd anneal the wire with a torch to take out the spring back effect and wind the coil in the grooves of the bolt chosen for its thread spacing.

Times change.

Yup. Peope aren't typically using 30g wire anymore. Unless their making claptons....[emoji12]

I like 28ga/8 wraps/3mm coil mandrel. If I use 32ga the resistance rises quickly with just a few turns. Somehow, we all began to heat and squeeze to make the coils touch. I think I'm going to experiment and spread them a little to cover more wick just to see if that affects flavor and vapor level.

I suspect it will my friend. I currently am using the lemo 2, 8 wraps 24 gauge spaced out just like i described. Comes out to .7ohm, @5v or 35w its performing awesome

Ive also come to learn at higher watts the wick needs to be really stuffed in there. I had to force myself to get away from the whole "tight but lose" thing.

I'm trying to stay with what I know to work, but on my next wick change I'll spread the coil and create a little space in the windings on my Kayfun to see what happens.

I've been playing with Rayon off and on for a while and have gone back to cotton. Rayon seems to taste "off" at first and it gets better, but it's really no better than Sally's cotton coil for flavor, IMO. There are lots of articles that cover the nasty chemicals used in making rayon. Some say that all the chemicals are washed away in the process, and others talk about the medical effects of rayon even after it's supposedly washed clean. People have allergies and reactions associated with rayon contact even in clothing.

I understand. But the only way ive found what works best is by experimenting.
