I understand. But the only way ive found what works best is by experimenting.

Speaking of experimenting, I just wound a 2mm 20ga Kanthal coil on my kayfun. I was a little leary of smaller wick diameter, but it turned out just fine. I'm getting great flavor and more vapor at 10W without any undue heat in the vape.

I always thought that a 3mm coil didn't contact enough wick to be optimum. 2mm is almost twice as wide (14 wraps) as my old 3mm coils (8 wraps).

I have tried a bunch of various gauge wire, and various coil inside diameters in the past.

I have settled on 27 gauge Kanthal for my Kayfun Lite-Plus, Kayfun 4 and my Lemo 2.

8 wraps of this wire on a 7/64" (2.8mm) drill bit gets me a 1.3 ohm coil.

Seems to work fine with no problems attaching to the coil screws. Also, a coil of 2.8mm inside diameter is wide enough to get a pretty fat piece of cotton inside the coil.
