I have read on here over and over to always have backups and backups for backups. My charger for my ego AND one of my batterys went out within 2 days of one another. But that wasn't to bad my mother in law has a charger that I could use. So I ordered a whole new kit, and just charged my battery on her charger. Well she went out of town this weekend, but I figured I would be ok since my kit was supposed to be here on saturday. Well it didn't show up and my only battery died Saturday morning.

I tried to go as long as I could without anything, but I just couldn't do it. Almost a month in and I broke down and bought a pack of smokes. I got my battery charged and put on my atomizer and it tasted burnt, put on my new optimus rda and that just doesn't seem to be working right. Just trying to get by on whatever I can till my order shows up.

But my lesson has been learning, as soon as I get paid I am placing a good sized order of everything I need to back myself up. I did not like going in to the store and buying the smokes, i did not like going outside at work to smoke, and i did not like the way i smelled afterwards.

What's REALLY funny is that I'm STILL not comfortable leaving the house with ONE pv or ONE juice delivery system.
In my head, it's all "but what if NOW is when the battery just fizzles? what if the clearo dies?". So I always have a backup WITH me, and sometimes 2. I use all the 510 stuff I started with for that - I have all sorts of nifty things to carry a couple 510's and cartos in that I use.

I guess I was lucky in that I only was 24 hours in when I realized that I would have to do something while the battery recharged other than resort to analogs - but I did not have that second battery and did that one time. That is why the next day I was duplicating my starter kit purchase.

The few times I got caught without a backup to my backup I was lucky. Put the ego down while the other was just starting on its charge and forgot where and for the next hour was a nutcase hunting around the house. Decided then that I should have that third one just in case I misplaced on and needed one while I hunted for it. Then there was the time in the car that the battery ran out because I was gone longer then I expected and so the backup for that had to be a passthrough I could plug into the car. Then I decided that I would be better off with a double battery set in a nice case for my purse so I did not have to keep stuffing batteries and accessories from my desk into my purse - but could just go. And that was before I had a chance to start shopping. Then there was the dream about zombies and I decided that the emergency kit (well its for earthquakes but you never know) should have a setup too and its batteries recharged regularly like the other rechargeables used in the kit - so we always have fresh batteries...

The backup for the backup, we all know that or soon do, but you make a good point about chargers... all the backups in the world won't help if you can't charge them back up (unless there is a solar powered PV I have missed somewhere). I realized after reading your post that pretty much every charger I have ever gotten in a kit are plugged in or hanging from the computer in use or to be ready for use (not all batteries come with chargers so you usually have fewer chargers than batteries). And then if you have a mix of batteries you may have different chargers for different connectors.. or maybe only one of each.

I realized that every charger in use is now counting down to end of life whatever that might be (or the next power surge)and what would I do then if I suddenly lost that one charger that only charges that battery, or even if I have another one what if it dies soon after (weren't the brought about the same time). That backup to your backup to your backup may mean owning 5 batteries, but if you don't have a brand new charger sitting in your accessory box that could be a problem.

As bad as NJOY or BLU disposables may be to some, you can get them anywhere, anytime. They are always an option as a last resort.

^ This... I have been out and about many times and had something happen and these saved me. Almost every gas station, Wal-Mart, and even smoke shop has them and they arent expensive. I have had a tank bust, clearos bust, battery die, I have left the house forgetting to fill my tank and not noticing until I am 30 mins down the road. Stopped somewhere flying an e-cig flag and picked up something to hold me over. Even those cheap, no-name, gaudy disposables are actually pretty good. I bought a grape one and it was actually better than any disposable I have had. It was like 6 bucks and lasted an entire day. It was different shades of purple with a gold trim, really ugly. Tasted great and worked well. If you guys see one of those I do recommend trying one.
