sorry to repeat myself, does anyone have thoughts on this? Kinda curious to get some thoughts.
Maybe i'm just silly, but if a liquid substance takes the paint off my furniture, or shatter a polycarb tank, do I want to expose my lungs/aveoli to it?
My feeling is glass/ss tank PLUS liquids that will not crack plastic and/or destroy simple surfaces around my house?

Ok, here are my thought since you asked. Do you drink cola or soda? If yes, then you likely believe its safe enough to put into your body.

Do you know cola can be used to dissolve the nasty buildup on auto battery terminals, or remove some stains from porcelin?

You've known someone who uses acetone to remove nail polish from fingernails. Well, this and the above cola example are anologies of a chemical reaction between two substances that for all general purposes will not do harm to human tissue.

I'll admit that there have been hardly any scientific studies done on the chemicals that can be found in the vapor we use to absorb the nicotine that we crave. However, one thing can be relatively certain. It is less harmful than the hundreds of chemicals found in burning tobacco smoke.

People can choose on their own whether they want to use certain eliquids. If you have issues with those flavors or ejuices, then don't use them. But don't judge others who wish to, as it is probably playing a major role in keeping them off of the stinkies.

Agree that vaping is safer than smoking analogs for sure!

I hope this is a general statement, and was not directed at me.

No judging took place in any of my posts. :)

My aim is to compile a list of juice and flavorings that may cause problems as far as cracking polycarbonate tanks. Anything listed here may cause your polycarbonate tank to crack. I am primarily focused on the polycarbonate tanks, although this info may apply to other tanks.

***Most, if not all, polycarbonate plastic by nature uses BPA in its manufacturing You can read about BPA leaching from plastics. Just google BPA. IMHO, it's just another good reason to move away from polycarbonate material.

Polypropylene is my personal choice for tank tubing because it it inexpensive and durable. This is the same material that is used to make syringes. Polypropylene tubing can be purchased here: McMaster-Carr. You can use 5/8"id x 3/4od for Liquinator tanks, Lil mama tanks, Big daddy tanks, Jtanks, and others. This tubing has a very slight curve to it, but will not be noticeable when cut to a short length. You can see a pic of a tank I made using this tubing with Liquinator endcaps here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-mods/259319-heres-pic-my-polypropylene-tank.html

The popular DCTanks can now be found made from polypropylene tubing. Polypropylene will not crack from a chemical reaction from using juices on this list. For some reason, most vendors are not stating the fact that these are made from polypropylene. IMO this is an excellent selling point that they are missing... These tanks can be used with some XL cartos, or they can be easily cut down to fit a standard sized carto, my personal preference, since I have a few dozen tanks, and I can't afford the pricier ones.

Glass tanks are also a great alternative.

I am personally not familiar with the Vision Stardust type tanks. From what I hear, they are polycarbonate and folks seem to be having the same issues with cracking/frosting.

Also, bear in mind that different vendors may use different ingredients to make the same flavors. So, a flavored e juice you get from one vendor that is safe for yout tank may not be safe from another vendor, or vice versa. For instance, I have no trouble at all with VaporGod strawberry kiwi, but Mrs. T's strawberry shortcake will probably crack a polycarbonate tank. Also, just because a certain juice may crack my polycarbonate tank, it may not crack yours. I don't know why... Clear as mud, huh?

Some of these are premixed juices, some are flavorings that DIY'ers use. Contributions have been made by myself and other members. So far we have:

Here is the list so far. Everything listed here has caused someone a problem with a polycarbonate tank. Some have reported no issues whatsoever with some of these juices/flavorings. Use at your own risk with polycarbonate tanks.

Disclaimer: These are not "bad" juices. They just have the potential to cause cracking in tank systems using polycarbonate tubing.

I will be putting this list into categories soon. Thanks to ECF Veteran member Stosh for alphabetizing it for me. :)

I've been using Kanger T2's, w/ Atomic cinnicide (Tasty Vapor) and i noticed after 3-4 days the tube looks cloudy, tried to clean it yesterday, still cloudy. I have some Pyrex tanks on the way (Texas Tuff Tanks). Thanks for all of the great info, like all products the public votes with their dollars, I'm not buying any more plastic tanks or clearomisers.

Is it possible that the problem with polycarbonate is the PG/VG ratio? According to this webpage I found, citric acid is fine for PC(although malic acid may be problematic), BUT propylene glycol is NOT recommended for exposure to polycarbonate...

Polycarbonate Chemical Resistance

Good catch, I had not thought to look into that.

Exactly what are the criteria for a juice to end up on the list? I mean, how many of us have to report a juice cracking up a tank before the juice goes on the list?
For example i see FA Tiramisu ended up on the list. I used this several times now in my clearo and i don't have problems with it. In fact, i don't have problems with any of the FA juices (so far).

Well, as you can see, this list was started over a year ago. There have been a lot of innovations since then. I started the list because I had a polycarbonate tank crack from some diy banana juice I made. I add to the list every time a member reports that a polycarbonate tank has been destroyed by an ejuice. Some folks seem to use the same juice in polycarbonate tanks without problems.

Please note that this is a list of ejuice and flavors that have the "potential" to crack or frost polycarbonate or plastic endcaps.
