Ive broken 3 of these bad boys. Although I liked them very much, I need something sturdier. I've got a Ego-V that I've had for about a week, and the end cap has already popped off.
Can someone PLEASE reccomend a sturdy PV (preferably VV\VW) with an upper spending limit of about 150?
Something I dont have to worry about dropping, or bending over with it in my pocket.

About the only device I'm aware of that will not break if dropped is a Provari. Otherwise, get yourself a lanyard for your current Twist.

The iMotion is very nice as is a standard the Lambo. Both are far sturdier than a twist and have a far superior battery life. The iMotion is a bit nicer, but that price is not for a full kit, just the tube so you'd need batteries, charger, attys/clearos/cartos. The Lambo price is for the full kit, all you'd need is juice.

edit: Yeah, I love my Provari too, but that would exceed your spending limit by 25% bare minimum.

Might want to look at this one. For 60 bucks it looks like a pretty nice unit.

I know all about working in a kitchen my friend...you need something built solid. I would look hard at the Lambo, understanding that it's not going to last forever like a Provari, but I'd be a bit worried about bringing my Provari on the line. It can handle some pretty tough abuse, but if it fell in a fryer, you'd be out $160 plus the battery.

The suggestions I've seen so far are better priced than a Provari, but I'm not convinced on the ruggedness of them. I would like to see drop tests of all of those units before I'm sold on it. The Provari has been drop tested and will survive a drop. What ever is connected to it like a clearomiser or cartomiser may not, but the Provari will.

Let's say you buy something for half the price and drop it, it may break, maybe not, but you still take that chance. Now you have to turn around and buy another. At that point, you could have simply bought the best.

I rocked the lanyard the whole time, But I simply CANNOT at work. I work in a kitchen, so it's kind of a no go. Too active.

That is essentially my concern. Maybe I'll save up a little more and buy the Provari, I've heard awesome things about it.

The Provari is amazing. I love mine and think it's one of the best investments I've ever made, but I hesitate to recommend it to everyone like some folks do. Let's face it, it's very expensive and while it's incredibly well built, not everyone needs something that's built like a tank and feels like a lead weight in your pocket. I did need that, and it sounds like maybe you do too.

I was put off at the size of the Ego when I first switched from my Blu (boooooo!) but now I like the feel of it. A bigger\heavier one would honestly be a draw to me. Nice, sturdy feel.

I feel the same way. Heavy means solid. To give you an idea, and since you cook I'm guessing you understand weights very well, my Provari, with the 18650 extension cap and battery comes in around 6 oz. That's a lot to be swinging around in a pair of check pants, but if it continually bangs into the reach-in all shift, it'll still hold up without so much as a scratch. And the standard 1 yr warranty with an optional 2 yr is another big selling point if you plan to take it on the line with you.

Oh, and the itaste MVP is not going to handle that kind of abuse either

Have no idea why you say that.

While it's true that some folks can brake an anvil, and should only consider the Silver Bullet, most will only find that it is the super long eGo class batteries like the Twist that are having the problem mentioned in this thread.

Worked in restaurants for years, so I understand your situation back there, it gets intense :)

I'm assuming you don't really have tight, secure pockets while at work either right?

Provari is more than worth it, but a bit clunky. But hey have you have to have a PV on you in those conditions its best to have something you can rely on. And if you do by some feat break it, you can always get it repaired.

I finally bit the bullet and bought one for many reasons, but most importantly, I added up all of the batteries I had broken, fried etc and it added up to a nice provari package easy. Just add up your broken twists, Ego V and throw in a few bucks for frustration and you're pretty much there :(

I don't hvae a buzz, but its another solid item from what I hear. I hvae a Reo VV (uses buzz electronics) and its a monster. Speaking of which, have you considered a Reo VV? Its 198$, but built like a tank and my favorite for when I have to be on the move. And Rob is great about repairs, very personable and fast from what I've seen.

EDIT: So a lot of this is going to depend on what atty you like to use at work. If its something that can work with a box mod, the notcigs VVPV and the Reo VVG should be on your radar :)

I say that because we are talking about work in a kitchen which can be extremely fast paced and involve a good deal of knocking into things and people. What OP needs is something that goes beyond sturdy, something that is built like a tank. And in that regard, the itaste MVP simply does not qualify.
