So I'm 1 month in to vaping and am so happy to finally be off analogs. I got turned on to vaping by a coworker and after some recommendations and reading some reviews I purchased my 1st rig, a eGo-C Twist 650mah & a Kanger T2. Soon after that I purchased an eGo-C Twist 1100mah, a second T2 followed shortly after by a T3 and mini Vivi Nova. IMHO starting off with with an eGo-C Twist and good clearomizers was the right move, and I have not had a bad experience. I think a huge part of my success, was I deciding to go with the variable voltage (VV) eGo-C Twist, right out of the gate. I almost can't imagine vaping without VV, because I'm using different clearo's with different resistances. So if I may. I would like to recommend to anyone that is just getting started, go with this setup. You shouldn't be disappointed. Now I find myself a month in and am, as I type this, happily vaping away on my 1100 Twist with the mini Vivi Nova, but wanting a little more. I am now considering moving up to some sort of AVP. I know I want VV and then there is the promise of Variable Wattage/Power (VW or VP), which ever you prefer. I find myself looking at sizable list of highly recommended, APVs and can't decide. One problem I have, is I'm one of those people that likes to handle a product and inspect it before I buy it. I also love to be able to ask questions on the fly. So, yeah, I love shopping brick and mortar stores. I also like to pay cash instead of running up the credit cards. But i digress. Here are a few on my list of devices I'm looking into, in no particular order, are:
Joyetech eVic
Sigelei Zmax or Smax (i kinda dig the square body on the Smax)
The Vamo (though I'm not a fan of the screen)
Volcano Lavatube v.2
Provari

The Provari & the Lavatube v.2 are probably a little on the cost prohibitive side for me currently, around $100 is my limit, and the lack of VW in these devises also moves them down on the list. Although I will admit that I'm not even sure if VW is for me, at this point, it would be nice to try it out though.
I'm also considering trying out some cardo tanks verses the clearo's I've been using.
So many choices. I just hate throwing money away on something I may or may not be happy with.

Any thoughts, honest suggestions?

Here is what I am currently using.

Have you dropped your twists yet? If you have I would bite the bullet and get the Provari. If you don't drop things a lot then any of the ones you are looking at will be awesome. If you are wanting VW because you use lots of different ohm heads just make sure the device remembers your wattage when you change the battery. Actually I wouldn't want to have to reset every time you change the battery so maybe check into that when picking a new device. I was going to get a lava tube but ended up with the Provari for that very reason. Good luck no matter what you choose.

All the VW devices he listed remember wattage settings after a battery change. I think all of the VW devices I know of do.

Evic will remember any settings you have, and lets you adjust power in 0.1 watt increments, which is nice. The amp limit is fairly low, though (I think it's 2.2 amps?), so if you want to use high power on a low ohm delivery device, you may be SOL. I don't vape that hot, so it works for me. Vamos have treated me well. I don't own any of the others.

The juice you are using has no idea if you are using VV or VW settings to produce the power it is receiving. If the setting is proper, the end result is the same. So just use the one that you find the easiest. (or most coomplicated if that's what you're into) I have both VV and VW PV's, and have no problem at all getting either to do what I want. I also have no problem getting the same out of a simple 3.7v mechanical mod.
Vaping is a pretty simplistic thing in reality. We just match voltage to resistance in order to produce a desired power. Adjusting any one of the three will give the same result.

Thanks for replies all. So i went to my local store today and was gonna look at what the had and what they recommended. I did end up coming home with a new PV but to my surprise I didn't get anything on my list. I was looking in the case when something caught my eye and I just have to have it. And this is where it gets really, really funny. I'm still laughing to myself. I walked out with a Legacy mini, 2 AW IMR 350's and a charger. LMFAO. I totally swung to the opposite end of the spectrum in like 2 seconds. I plan on picking up the extension tube and a Kick within the next week or 2. Man do I love this little thing. and my Vivi Nova Mini looks right at home on top. Who knew.
