Fun experiment, set up my AGA T2 with a silica wick and it vapes wonderfully!
tank filled with fresh Serendipity. :)
1.4 ohm coil that kicks :censored: on my mechanical mod. About 12 watts and just nice full taste.

Might have to PM you for some tips on that. Just got a AGA-T2, only messing with SS mesh so far, it's not without its issues. Can't wait till the ceramic wicks are back on stalk

Sure. PM me anytime. I have one RBA up and running with SS mesh and I dare not mess with it to much now. :) But it's getting easier with every try. :)

I really need to stop ordering stuff...just ordered another Mountain Vapor mechanical mod! :) Now I have a spare...for just $20.25 total! So now all I need is wick, wire, Phoenix RBA, and nic base. What's up with Wizard Labs?...I hear they are still not up and running. I guess I should go check that myself.....

From WL site:

UPDATE 2/11/13: Open in Orlando, FL.
Within the first 24 hours of reopening we took approximately 10-12 days' worth of orders. Since all of our nicotine solutions are mixed fresh to order, and we are still in the process of hiring and training new staff, this has caused a large backlog in the lab, and we will not be restocking nicotine solutions on the site until the current workload is cleared. We appreciate all of our customers' support and patience during this relocation, and are working to ship all orders as quickly as possible.

Both run hot but this one seems to be even hotter. But the jury is still out. I think it is the pulse width modulation.

If your LavaTube is a YJ, it's definitely the PWM that's making the vape seem hot. It's actually pulsing at 6 volts no matter what setting you have it on. It just changes the duty cycles to get an average voltage reading to match your setting. This is the reason so many people find nothing but frustration when using PWM devices with genesis RBAs and mesh wicks. The PWM creates hot spot after hot spot. The vv mods that have a flat DC current like the Provari and the L-Ryder LT don't have this issue.

I really wanna try the ceramic. But I got inspired and built a good DID set up. Where are you looking to get your ceramic wicks from?

Hard to believe the duty cycle could be that slow to cause hot spots. But the proof is in the pudding. The first YJ LT was not bad. In fact, I didn't have any problems with burning juice (though I had the volts always set on the very low end of the range). This new YJ LT is hopeless.

It depends on the hertz rate. Most recent PWM vv devices have a really low hertz rate (33Hz) which gives very wide peaks. Let me see if I can find that info. PBusardo usually goes into it.

Ok I think I may start getting a little deeper into RBA's now that I have taken this DID clone and made it almost perfect. I have great TH, vapor and flavor. And a nic high. I need something good for the top of this Natural and was thinking of the AGA-T2. Anyone picked one of these up yet? I think I have heard that a few peeps have. Now I think that my AGA-T is a really solidly built device and I might want one without the knurling. If someone has one and can chime in with their impressions that would help my purchase decision. Thanks.

I have three of them. The AGA-T2 has no knurling, is all stainless, and has a press fit top cap. Good device for the price. Make sure you get the newer glass tanks as the first-run tanks were rough and unpolished. Check with the vendor first. I roll a solid wick with 500 mesh and I don't have to tilt even with the fill screw in.

You could be right...this new LT might have a slower refresh than the one I had before. Let me know what you find X.

The YJ Lavatube uses 100Hz. The new Volcano Lavatube V2 uses 33Hz. The L-Ryder is a flat DC current but it's amp limit is low which isn't good for LR attys and it won't regulate the voltage with a dying battery. Get a Provari.

Well, both of my LTs are YJ...so it is claimed. But I would not be surprised if that is BS. You know how false advertising runs in this business. My new LT does not function the same as my old LT. Period. Get a provari! :)

BTW, I believe the Provari also has a low amp shutoff...does it not?
