At ECC, I demoed a new PCB from EA mods. It's still in development and from what they explained, it is regulated but is neither VV or VW. It seemed more advanced than the D20 (including reverse battery protection) and fires resistances below .5ohms. Specs may change and they don't know if they will release it as a standalone chipset or in a proprietary mod. I urged them to do the former as it would sell a zillion (hyperbole) units.

If they put out a mod at the right price point they wouldn't be able to keep up with sales. Heck they could do both. I agree Provari is long over due for an update. And I don't even own one. Sooner or later they'll have to.

Instead of typing the whole thing again, I'll just quote what I wrote in the Big thread here:

Good evening, or morning, Army whatever the case may be.

Good news and bad news - good news the customs office called back with information about my poor Kayfun Mini.

Bad news is they gave me three options none of which are very good:
1. Do nothing, take the loss, as they will confiscate it, and mark it up as lesson learned.
2. Return the item to In Taste paying a FedEx fine of 4,000 baht ($127.84) and have IT resend with regular mail and wait another month to use it.
3. Pay the taxes and fine to get it out of shipping and into my hands. Approximately, 5,000 to 6,000 baht ($160 - $190 US) and be using it that same day.

Before I tell you all what Mrs. Chak suggested, I'd like to hear your thoughts as fellow vapers?

Oops almost forgot have a new Spector tube on the way from Vapiaze which should get here within the next 2 weeks as it is on pre-order.
Don't think I forgot anything, unless you want to include the little "Squared" from LeCig that the wife uses with CE8 clearomizers.

Yep I thnk that is about all for now, but am open to new mods as they come out. Would get a Chi-You but they are being scalped for wice the price now.

Instead of typing the whole thing again, I'll just quote what I wrote in the Big thread here:

First, you have to ask yourself if you're going to buy another Kayfun after this mess. If you're determined to own another one, then choose the least costly consequence.

Option one has you eating your original expense. If you ever purchase a second Kayfun from anyone, you must factor in your loss, which turns a new device into $xxx

Option 2 is similar to Option 1, but you're paying a return penalty for the original shipment rather than Intaste for a second unit. This turns the cost of one unit to $xxx and has you waiting a month for it.

Option 3 is similar to option 2 with the benefit of immediate response. It may be the most expensive, but the benefit is you don't have to wait for the Kayfun. It also turns a single purchase into $xxx

If you've decided that you will eventually want another Kayfun at any time in the future, It seems to me that option 3 is the best: You get your device immediately. Your lesson is learned. You don't have to resist buying another Kayfun. You will forget about this unfortunate occurrence sooner and move on.

Get out the calculator and figure how much a second KF would cost in all three instances (your x-factor). If Option 3 is less than $50-60 over the penalties of options 1 and/or 2, I would bite the bullet and get your KFL out of jail immediately. Never look back and be more careful when ordering in the future.

I mixed it up a bit with the build on my IGO-l.... I built a 10 wrap 28g 1/16 micro coil... 1.4 ohms. I did the wick a little differently, based on the 'build du jour' going on in the MC thread. Rather than running the wick through the coil, I wrapped it around the coil.... leaving a airway through the coil. I lined up the vent hole on the bell with the outside facing mouth of the coil.... this should encourage airflow through the coil. I'll probably fiddle with it a little to get the coil as close to the bell as I can without causing a short. I might be able to scale back a bit on the cotton... but I wanted to make sure I had things really saturated to give it a fair shake.

Pardon the quality.... I don't gots me one of those fancy macrame lens for my camera... just the POS one on my phone. :)

Vapor, throat hit and flavor... quite good. I was a little skeptic at first, then I realized that what this is, essentially, is the same as the inner workings of a carto. But the set up throws out a near high power RBA level vape... and I would expect that if I can get more airflow channeled through the coil, it'll get even more efficient

I've seen where they lay the cotton wick below the coil (they don't wrap around it). I did it once on my AGA but got mixed results.

Yeah... I saw that too. But I look at that and think "Hey... there's a high percentage of coil that isn't in contact with any juice... inefficiency! I saw a few builds... one maybe in a Kayfun (or Oddy or Ithaka) ... where they used vertical coils wrapped with cotton, like a cart. I figure if I slide a piece under and over, I could cover the whole coil. And if I can somehow channel airflow through the coil, then that would be ideal. When I fiddle with this again, I am going to lengthen the outside leg (negative leg I believe) so I can turn the coil and get it very close to where the bell housing would sit. If I can get it right, the cotton around the coil would make contact with the housing, creating a kind of seal... so when I inhale, air comes in and passes straight through the coil.

I probably have way too much cotton on the 'bed' though. The cotton wrap goes through the two posts, so when I drip, it's an easy target. The cotton on the deck is really just there to trap excess juice...If I reduce it down to where it's mostly just under the cotton/coil wrap, I won't have as much juice tied up far away from the coil.

But so far, this build gives the best vape I've had on my IGO to date.

So the mesh on my RSST is sorted out nicely now... Got some Legend in there. My IGO is giving a top shelf vape...Some Cinful Apple in that one. I did the same cart-o-RDA on my Octo, and it's going well too... if only I could figure out how juice is making into that bottom hole.. I plugged the deck and stuffed one of those little silicone 'needle' things that came in a cart, so near as I can tell, juice is making it past the top o-ring.

Wrapped around the coil might take a little more time for the coil to heat up too. Enough to be a problem?

Well... it would, but I think the difference is negligible. Being on the outside, there is more juice in contact, more juice, more liquid to absorb heat. But there is still a lot of energy going through that coil. Might be just a tiny fraction.

Vapes awesome though. That I know.

Bronze, can I ask how much you paid for your SVD and did you get the set with the iClear 30?

Chak, I just got the SVD alone. I did not get the iClear 30 set/kit. I believe it was $37+change. Of course, free shipping from FastTech. It shipped yesterday. No idea how long it will take to get here though.

Ok, that's the price that I saw. If you get the 2 iClear 30's with it the price is around $60 I think.
I imagine it'll take about 10 - 14 days to get over there. Maybe less. Keep us posted on how it works when it comes in, OK?
