Well getting to leave work a little early today, just letting the car warm up before I take off. Bronze Pro Vari mini ordered this morning. I'm excited and know I will use it. Pretty sure a nap is going to be in order when I get home.

The same thing happened to me Leo the first time I tried cotton in it , had to boil it a couple of times with fresh water each time to eliminate that taste .New micro and cotton wick in the kfc is tasting a little w wonky.. Might have to do a better job of cleaning the cotton maybe.. hmm...
Both of my Grands are starting the new year with fresh Nano coils, and fresh yarn wicks. One with the ERA, and other with the V4. Serendipity in one, and Unicorn juice in the other. Its been an excellent year thus far!
been reading about chipsets n all along with the "rattlesnake" effect and read about 33.3Hz PWM soooo I warmed up the O-Scope and did my calibration tests to make sure I was on par... Cal test passed... attached the leads to the case and center pin of the Vamo3 and hit the button... Flat line feed @4.7VDC ... odd, increased the Hz setting to a finer read and retested... still flat line, went thru all settings and flat line everytime. No pulse anywhere my O-scope goes to 20MHz. Either the PWM is way above 20MHz or Vamos chip is producing a very fine DC pulse ( 4.700 - 4.710 volt swing) ((about the thickness of the trace)) which would be considered straight DC current.
Will test the SVD when it arrives too....
I think you missed your calling General , you'd have been hell in Korea with an M1 Garand in your hands taking shots at the Chinese .I'd be skeptical of applying "fine" to the VAMO. It's Chinese made stuff. You get what you pay for though.![]()

My first coils that work. Not great I think but working. I had to mod the nimbus clone. No holes in the post and wrapping the wires around the screws sucks. So cut a flat spot on the sides of the post with a dremel then drill. Posts now have holes in them. Was going to take a pic with the coils working but my 18350 got low. Both in the charger now. Time to pick up more batts. May be 490 or 500s. Coil is 30gabout 3mil dia. 5/6 wrap. Vamo says .9ohm and wick is 2 bits of ekowool. I'm not a fan of cotton and silca was hard to get to stay in place. I don't have any cotton anyway. I'm glad this nimbus clone was cheap cause if building dual coils is always this much of a pain I'm not sure I'll keep doing it. Now that I have the Magneto I can put a mirco in the small RBA dripper I have. Maybe I can get it to work right

Those look like vertical coils resting in the wick, no? Pix is kinda small.
