I been running the stainless section for the last 3 tanks, just because I hate the looks of the plastic tank.

I fill it from the top, there is a change of taste when you get near the end. To me it seems like it is a lot stronger of a taste right before it goes dry.

Havent run the R91C dry yet, but I have run the RSST down to a point where the cotton was nearly white again and the flavor does intensify along with vapor density, almost subohm density...

Yeah... 28g micros are tough. I had a 1.6 ohm in my IGO that I just popped off, threw it on a drill bit, unwound a wrap on both ends and popped it back on. I wanted to drop the resistance so I could run it on my K100.... with the KFC on my Vamo. That coil must be... oh, three months old... maybe older... might have been early September.

D... I am going to boil up that P&C cotton yarn today and give it a shot later. 6 in one hand I guess... I used to get all meticulous with the cotton wicks... now I just rip off a piece, twist one end into a leader to thread it, then leave a fluffy puff on the other to sit on the deck and soak up juice. Takes seconds.

But the yarn might find a home in my KFC if it works....

I don't bother with it too much either. Although it's not too difficult to get it pulled quite even with the method I posted with a little practice. Even so, I don't spend a lot of time doing it. I'd guess maybe 2 minutes total from the last vape until it's refilled & screwed back on to my Provari. Depending on how much crap is globbed up on the coil. I will spend a little time scraping it somewhat clean.

Heh.... Does anyone ask why your clarinet produces vapor?

Or why a large group of mice are following you around?

When I first started using cotton balls, I'd spend WAY too much time obsessing over the thickness, how tight it was, how even... take it out, pull a few tiny strands out... Not that it bothered me.... Vaping is a hobby, and fiddling with the gear is something I've always found fun. But I eventually stopped fussing over prepping the cotton.... Actually, I credit the great Phil Brusardo... In his reviews, he just snags some cotton, twirled the end and stuffed it in.

I was like.. duh....juice don't care about no neat wicks.... :)

Yup yup. I was just reading this post by this other guy who's going to try cheesecloth next. Apparently he's concerned about the thread count of his wicks. I pointed out the basic physics of it - he just called me cheap & couldn't follow my logic. I guess since I know "electricity science" I shouldn't just wing it with wicks. My wicks turn out really consistent, but it's not from putting a lot of effort into them. Does the juice make it up to the coil? Does it feed the coil at an appropriate rate? Go team.

Of all the stuff in this gear... wicking is the simplest concept... There are only three things a wick need do; not impart any flavor (i.e. chemical additive) to the vapor, not burn, keep the coil wet.

No calculations, no thermodynmics.. nothing. Anything that 1) stays wet, 2) doesn't burn and 3) doesn't add anything to the vapor.... that's it. Nothing complicated. Silica and SS mesh was the medium of choice for most of the vaping timeline... now cotton has come on like gangbusters since as long as it satisfies #1 (which it does if it's in contact with any juice), #2 is taken care of (wet cotton is suprisingly resiliant to temps)... and CLEANED cotton clears #3 quiet well.

And even though I am fully aware of the properties of silica wick and that it doesn't throw off fibers small enough to cause lung irritation and damage, but it is still glass fibers. I do feel a bit more comfortable with cotton in there (longer, softer, biodegradable fibers).... might be totally misplaced and in my head...

Aye. Too long. How have you been, and how is Diesel?

Been good man just busy as hell with work and all this snow we got. How about yourself?

Diesel is doing awesome! He's getting huge too. We start advanced training with him next month.

He looks bad to the bone, and solidly built! Adorable, too.

No snow in Va, just bitter cold earlier this week, but it's back in the upper 40's today. Staying busy here, too. Trying to stay out of trouble...with mixed success!
