Rip Tripper already reviewed these.... not good... but they are basically "beta" coils. One thing about the vaping world, there are always revisions.

I will review it without touching one... it's a bad design as ceramic holds heat too long and takes too long to heat up. It's a step backwards not forward, kanthal is much better. I mean really, there is nothing to fix with kanthal...inexpensive, long lasting, quick heat up/down, highly specialized.

I am not saying don't try to improve upon what's available, but prepare for failure if you do because kanthal isn't just a simple piece of wire.

For those of you using cotton wicks with your Kayfuns and microcoils, how often do you re-wick? I've been using the same wick for almost a week I think, and it's still vaping great. I've got some Pirates Booty in the HCigar Kayfun 3.1 and figure I won't re-wick until I'm ready to change to some other juice.

Pappy I change my wick after 2 tankfuls , BK went 7 & 1/2 tanks of Legend on a cotton wick before it got funky on him but cotton is cheap I like to keep it fresh . My coils are a month old and I won't change those until I bust them .

Saw it. One review is not enough for me. And as you say this was a beta run. Only time will tell if they are going to work or not. I'm always open to a new idea.

And, you buy your juices in 70/30 ratio? Curious as to how a 4mm wick does not restrict wicking in a 2mm coil, specially seeing how the 4mm would expand even more when soaked with juice.

Not sure I followed you Dust. I'm not using a 4 mm wick. I'm using 4 strands of 1 mm. If you bundle 4 strands of 1 mm it's probably about 2.3 - 2.4 mm at the widest point. Yes, it would still pinch but apparently not enough to get dry hits. Yes, I vape 70/30

Dust, I drew (4), 1mm circles on my AutoCAD and bunched them in as close as possible so each circle was touching tangents on adjacent circles (i.e. the circles were as close as possible without overlapping). Then I measured across the widest span (there are two widest points...across opposite circles) and it equals 2.4142 mm's.

If you want it more accurate than 4 decimal points I will have to charge you.

I wasn't thinking in circles, my bad! I figured it out last night, and have one of my KFL's running 4x1mm in it. Southern Gentleman.. you know how long that will last right?!

I mean, the silica can be squeezed and still not pinch off. There's enough "fluff" in the wick that it can tolerate some pinching. Obviously squeezing down from 2.4mm to 2mm isn't enough to produce dry hits using 70/30 Dragon's Fire. Would it affect 100% VG? No idea. Never tried 100% VG. Of course, you could fishtape four strands through and remove one strand after it's fished through and the widest point would be 2.0mm exactly. Maybe I'll do that next time but I don't see how you can improve on perfect. Again, if I were vaping a thicker juice it might matter. Just doesn't seem to affect 70/30.
