Ok, because a 5/6 wrap gave me 2.6 with a 3mm + fine paperclip. Running at 4.6 on the Pvari.
Are you using 32ga Kanthal?

$20 freaking dollars!
I'm in the wrong business.
Is anybody still experimenting with that SS rope wick? Like to know how that turns out...
Another thing, been looking to get rebuildable supplies, but it's hard to find everything I want in one place. Shipping would break me from 3 or 4 different venders!
What I need:
1. 1 meter silica preferably 1mm
1a. 2 - ⅛ x 1 ft. silica sleeves (used to cover the end of SS mesh or SS rope/cable)
2. 2 meter 32g Kanthal A-1 wire
3. 1 sheet 223mm x 293mm (A4 paper size) SS mesh - should last quite a long time, eh?
4. 1 meter SS cable 1/8th or 7/64th" 7x7 316 (marine/surgical grade) (non-galvanized!!!) For S's & G's (experimenting)
Kidney Puncher had 1 - 4 on their site, but 1a and 3 were sold out.
Suggestions, advice, Good Samaritans welcome...![]()
I have changed all of my aga to ss cable

I just got some 3/32 ss cable. I didn't want to read through the whole cable thread just yet. In short, what are you doing to oxidize the cable? How much mesh do you add to the top? Are there any particular caveats, or is it just coil, adjust and vape? I use 28g kanthal on a mech.
I wrap just enough mesh around the top of the cable to make one wrap around with just a little overlap. And big enough that your coil will fit on the mesh. top to bottom. Then oxidize just like it were a roll of mesh. I usually do it 3 times. I use 3/4 wrap of 28 gauge on a mech.

Do you oxidize the cable before you wrap it with mesh, or do you do the whole thing as one? I'll try this tonight for sure.
Will do. It will be tomorrow most likely. I was interested in the ceramic thing too but I see how fragile and expensive the wicks are and doubts set in. That and it seems like you need to drill out the wick hole pretty big to accommodate a sturdy wick. You can't undo that. I think the steel cable with a Nextel ceramic fiber sleeve might be a good thing. I bet the next thing will be fiber-optic cable.X lemme know how that works out for ya. I would be interested in this if its an easy set up. I have 3 ceramic wicks in there I haven't used yet. I should be getting the 2 T2's in the next few days. The one I have I may have a trade set up.

If it turned into fiber I would be good. Would just have to raid our head end. Yeah that's why I am a bit hesitant until I get my permanent aga's. fraid of breaking em. I did see a method using heat to wrap the coil onto the ceramic. Heating while wrapping. I will take a day when I get everything and try out a bunch of stuff. Also wanna check out the ribbon kanthal.

X...hows that modified VAMO working for you?
Do you find after using a Vivi with the NET's for a few days, and topping up juice levels when they get low, that the juice gets really dark and dank at the bottom? I had to clean out the last 25% or so of what was left in the Vivi because it was almost bitter and unvapable.
Can't say I've noticed this with the carto tanks or the T3's but that could be due to them feeding from the bottom.
That happens with NETs. Basically, particulate matter (tobacco) is becoming toasted near the coil and traveling back down to the juice. The organic material suspended in the liquid becomes sedimentary and will travel downward and darken the juice. It happens with heavily sweetened and and dark juices too. Natural vanilla, coffee, and NETs do it the most in my experience. Happens in my gennys.
