Mmmm hmmm. That's how it starts. Then we go, "I think I'll try 28 gauge on a mech". Then you're at 1ohm @ 4 volts which is 16 watts. And we're like, "Wow! That's some good vape thar!". Then you remove a wrap and you're at .8ohms, and then the magic happens. Rainbows and ponies, my friend. Rainbows and ponies.

Already thinking sub-ohm X. :)

In time. Got to get my money's worth out of these PVs first.

Regulated have their place for sure. I still use my modded Vamos for dripping and Protanks regularly. I generally don't leave the house with $400 worth of mod in my pocket. I still have a Twist for super stealth missions.

You know, I've wanted to mess with the Protank since they came out but just haven't got around to it. I've been messin' with other stuff (I don't mess with other stuff as quickly as you do). I enjoy bottom coil vaping and still use these CE3's regularly. The CE3 produces an excellent vape. The only problem with them is they're horrible quality. About half of them are crap right out of the box and the other half have varying lives (and usual short lives). Ever since they went to the new design their reliability got worse. And it wasn't great to begin with. But when you get a good one, it makes a great vape for a cheap little $2 clearo.

This Genny wick is about broken in. Seems about 1 - 1.5mls does it.

Good to see you move out of the sub 6 watt league General. How do you find the flavour etc at 10 watts?

Truthfully, I prefer my Phoenix RBA at my customary wattage more than I do this Genny at 10 watts. But I still like the flavor on this Genny and it's not far off. The advantage is it is 3mls so I am not tethering o the ole juice bottle.

You like to vape out of both sides of your mouth. What should we believe?

You would laugh, but as I type, there are three mods in front of me with filled tanks. One fruit, one 'bacco, and one bakery. I vape what I want, when I want, and no one can stop me! (evil laugh)

Actually, I knew these would be hard to snatch up and I didn't want to regret getting just one. I can get my money back for it any time I desire. It's like having a savings account...that smells like banana nut bread.

This is what jwhorner6 was talking about. This is the best genny setup I'v done so far. I set my RSST up with .094" 7x19 strand ss rope with the center bundle of wires removed and 500 mesh on top. I used 2 of the individual center wires to make a twisted coil, Yes a stainless steel wire coil not kanthal. I did a 4-5 wrap coil and it metered out to .7 ohms and WOW just WOW this thing is awesome. Just check out the vapor shot I took the vape is so thick and heavy is starts to fall instantly :))

Isn't it bad to heat ss that hot and breathe it in? I read something about it and people were bailing out on using mesh for a while.

I tried everything I could think of using ss mesh. On genesis style atty's and in rba's. And I can wrap a pretty darn good coil. Stuff just never agreed with my throat. Would get that sore scratchy feeling like I would from too much pg. Was told everything from lowering my nic to adding extra insulation with some cotton. So there I was vaping zero nic on a fuzzy whitish looking coil and still got a sore throat. Lol. So I just have up on the mesh. Not for me I guess. Shame though. I'd like to be able to.

I don't use mesh, but not for the reason I was alluding to. We were discussing possible health risks associated with heating stainless steel to the point where it releases chromium oxide. I know kanthal contains a bit more chromium in it, but Kanthal is more heat stable than ss, which is why, I'm guessing, that ss isn't used for heating coils. I use ss cable wrapped in silica sleeving, so the steel doesn't get hot enough to convert chromium into chromium oxide.

I see three different sizes of sleeving on kidney and I'm confused as to which one I want. I'm using cable Erik sent me in my rsst and aga. ^ that post scares me....

If you use 3/32'' or 1/8'' cable, get the XS-18. That's a 1/8 ID sleeve. It will be a little loose on the 3/32'' cable, but I find the XS-116 is too narrow for it. If you use 1/16'' cable, the XS-116 will be a perfect fit. Ignore the XS-316 as that's 3/16" ID; too big for wick diapers.

Don't worry much about the chromium oxide talk. Much of it is not applicable at the temperatures we vape at. There is a thread about it somewhere in the rebuildable forums if you want to know more. Just search for it.

Say X...when I initially tested my resistance on my new genny wick/coil, I came up with 1.2ohms. Sometimes I would get 1.3, other times 1.1 but it liked 1.2 the most (on my Provari). I checked it frequently throughout the first tank of liquid and it seemed to hang on to that 1.2 reading. I'm on my second tank now and it reads 1.7ohms. Now I'm at 1.5 ohms. Pretty jumpy if you as me. Any thoughts? I'm wondering if my ss mesh wick is brushing the bottom of the tank.

Interesting. Yet another reason I came back to the forum. No idea you could use ss cable. So let me get this.... you're taking ss cable, wrapping it with silica, then wrapping your coil around that. So basically the vapor is still being created from the juice soaked silica and the coils. What point does the ss cable serve? Just to keep the silica straight? I'm guessing this is only for genesis style atty's.

Ahh had to google that. Lol. Had no idea ss cable had wicking properties. So you're just using the silica to insulate the cable then. Very interesting. Be ordering some of that soon lol

X uses the silica sleeve as a diaper at the top of the cable as an inulator for the coil from what I understand. The cable is used as the wick, in the tank.

ETA: Just got my first bit of cable from X so we'll see how this goes for me in the new heat-treated AGA that I got from him outta the classies.

Had to go in and read some of the earlier threads on ppl trying the ss cable. Lol. So X I get the whole idea now. If I were to try this one, what size cable you finding the best to work with and two is this going to create a headache on my provari. I gotta try and get at least 1.3ohms or I'm already expecting it to throw errors at me. I have a zmax. I've never messed with it and the genny so I'm not sure if it's as fidgety as the provari on low resistance.
