Papaw, got some time this evening to finally put a build in the Rogue. 26g single spaced coil. 6 wraps. 0.7ohms.

I've got a bit of a nic buzz from 3mg Dragons Fire, and I can barely see what I'm typing. :)

It's all good!

Gumbo Yaya with shrimp , crab and Andouille , yummy ! :) I agree , I stick with those as much as I can . Definitely , but LA was supposed to be my Sous chef . :) Nope as etoufee or fried crawfish tails or even fried softshell crawfish , not forgetting crawfish remoulade or eggplant stuffed with crawfish and Andouille , hell I better stop now or I'll wind up writing a book . :)

So , make it happen , and drag LA with ya on the way ! :)

Dang it! This is making missing out so much worse. Being your Sous Chef is on my Bucket List. And now I'm hungry. Dang. ;)

Have not had most fish fresh (can't wait for a real vacation for that) except lake Erie perch and whatever it is my husband gets around here from the lakes. Do have a good tilapia recipe and a lot of times turns out awesome even frozen. I'll have to look it up and share it

Edit : here it is http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/50644/broiled-tilapia-parmesan/

And we usually add a bit of paprika, and add less mayo or use light mayo to cut calories.

Like the parmesan idea.

It's alive! Still don't have a atty for it unless I use the A7 I have. May pick up a cheap one at the B/M or I'll do some looking online. For now I'm using the Mutation X clone. It's at about .5 ohm so it's a good test for the setup. It's hitting really hard. The battery was reading 4.007 on the meter before I put it in. Then I checked to see what was getting to the connection. It was reading 4.006. Not bad.

Two more. I have to get a pull strip in for the bottle. Didn't think to leave a cut out in the center piece and the bottle is hard to get out. Also the door is snug enough to hold itself in at the moment but I don't think that will last. So I'll have to add something to hold it at some point.

Not bad for just having a cordless drill and dremel. For now I'm happy.

So following Retic's advice, I built a vertical coil in the Rose v2 - 2mm ID, 30g kanthal, 8 wraps @ 2.4 ohm. Why I'm getting 2.4 is beyond me, it should be closer to 2. Anyways, it's working and PB is the test juice. Not bad, not bad at all.

AFC is open full, juice control is about half way open - no dry hits so far at 9.5 watts.

Making that vertical coil wore me out - time for an ol' man nap... :closedeyes:zzzZZZ

Nice job David!!!

The squapes been boiled many times. Left to dry overnight. After I get the girls to school I'll try it again. There's a little ball bearing that holds the AFC in place that rusted in the process. It's attached to the base. Planning on just rubbing a little veg oil on it. Any better ideas?

I use mineral oil for my carbon steel stuff, so they won't rust. It won't hurt you, if you ingest it either. I like to use this on knives especially. I would soak it in the mineral oil for a while, then wipe it off. It should still leave a slight coating on it. You could go get a stainless steel ball bearing at the hardware store, if they carry any that small. A small store would measure it for you, if they don't have it. That way you could order one if you want to.

I also have something called fixin' wax, that I make myself...you can use that on stuff that will rust like knives, or even leather. It will also repel water.

P.S. if that soak, and wipe didn't get the rust off...use a fine sandpaper and lightly sand off the rust, then add the mineral oil
