todays experiment:
2 KFL's, 1 nickel 1 kanthal both with DF
Squape R clone nickel and DF
Dripper: nickel and DF....

Hoping to narrow down the flavor issue.

Well this didn't take long.

Obviously the Achilles blows everything out of the water. I'm going to bring it naked to NOLA so everyone can try it out. Might be just as fab as the magma but the quality of the make still impressed me every time I unscrew it.

Both kayfun builds are similar. There is a slight difference in flavor, one is no better than the other. Kanthal build seems sweeter, nickel build brings out the choc chip more.

The squape r?? Meh at best. Most of the funky taste is gone, but it's still not good. I'll keep it around for my high VG juices that I use occasionally. Flavors I don't know so well. I think part of the problem is I LoVe that DF so much I know what it can taste like and the squape doesn't get there.

So if I were to rate it like Lori does:
Build A+ (easy breezy)
Fill: B (there's a pretty narrow space between chimney and tank wall to get the juice in, it's fine with the syringe but you can't get a juice bottle tip in there)
Flavor: C... Which could very well be a little nastiness still lingering from the making of it)

Thanks for the ratings, and extra info. Very informative. There should be no taste left in the Squape R in my opinion. Not after all you did to it. I wonder if you could put it in a cup, fill it with vodka, and add some flavoring to it? Let it steep in there for a few hours? The vodka will mix with whatever flavor is there, but if you add a flavoring you like, maybe DF, just enough to smell it. I know I am reaching here. But I want you to be happy with your clone. What a shame, all that work, and you aren't satisfied with it.

How do you have the air-flow set on the Squape, April? Sometimes having a bit too much air can mute finer flavour notes. Can you adjust it to KF levels and see if that makes any difference to flavour?

Got it..well the Billow leaks like a sieve when filling from the fill screw..lost a few mls of liquid..again. Game plan 'B' unscrew the bottom from the chamber and just fill from there. Tanks..pfffft

It's on the second to smallest setting. I have them all set to the same draw. It helped for sure, I was one larger my first day. I've played with all the settings, adjusting temp, watts etc... Can't get that sweet or cocoa to come into play.

I knew what I was getting into. None of the clones got good ratings. I have a ton of "fun" flavors that I goof around with I can use it for. My DF is precious to me and it needs to go in something that can do it justice.

Welp..You have to screw the bottom fill hole screw back in..and yeah..I put my thumb over the hole..That is the only way I got the PB in it in the first place. Thing is..it wasn't PB but some expensive eliquid a friend gave me to try.

Idk why it started doing this?..It didn't when I fist got it.

That seems to be what is happening April. Idk why..but even with the air flow holes closed..it leaks from the tip hole.

When I get through with this tank..I will replace the glass tank gaskets. It came with spares.
