I've had Vamos. I have an SVD too. Three button operation. Had it for more than a year. I still cannot figure out that menu. Though I admit it has mostly to do with having a bad attitude about multi-button operation. Minds work in very different ways.
Just bought hubby the 80w version. We both quite like it, its heavy (as expected with 2 batteries) and seems sturdy. The gold is very nice looking, but so far haven't found a single gold Atty that actually matches if that matters to you. Overall seems sturdy so far, we've only had it about a week and haven't cranked it all the way up.
BTW papaw, I got the package last night and will be setting up the drippers to try them tonight
Nuttin to figure , ya just gotta put your glasses on , the menu is etched on to the SVD . It helps when I wanna play with voltage instead of wattage .

What exactly am I supposed to be getting out of a sub ohm coil? Is it heat? Different flavor? I've been using the sub tank with the 0.57 stock head and I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I'll be swapping it out with the nickel heads soon, so I can get power and less heat. Be kind to me please. This is new for me and Im looking for information not criticism. Thanks

What power are you running it at?!
18-23w. Less than that not much happens. Very little vapor or flavor. It's too warm at these wattages for me. Although the flavor is good.
My brief and limited experience with sub-ohms ; Too Hot. Double the Vapor for at least three times the vapor temperature. Also, running dual coils meant half the battery life. I tried wide-bore drip tips, Air Flow Control, dual coil ranging from 1.2 ohm to 0.4 ohms. These old, tobacco scarred lungs could not endure the amounts or the temperatures of sub-ohming. I was so disgusted I traded that mod/ RBA away. I also started a thread in the 'Coil Builds' Forum.

I used the sub-ohm coil at around 13 watts and the single air-hole. I was comfortably able to vape my 12mg 70PG juice with that. Mouth to lung hits.
When I switched out to a low nic, VG heavy juice, I bumped the voltage up to 20 watts and opened up the air-flow to two holes or the largest air-hole. Very comfortable vaping there too. Direct Lung hits.
What nic and pg/vg level were you vaping at 18-23 watts?
So it is mostly about warmth?

Air-flow.. big component of high wattage vaping. A lot of air is required to keep the coils cool. Please tell me you had it wide open and were lung hitting that juice.

Different juices, different coils, different power levels, different setups.. everything stays different. Vapers included.
All components have to change and align in order for any given setup to work right.
Too thick juice, improper wicking.. dry hit.
Too much power, not enough air.. burnt hit.
Too thin juice, high nic.. harsh hit.
Thick juice, good wick, good power, not enough air, mouth to lung.. hot and not enough vapour and/or flavour.
It's all relative!
One more addition to your "warmth" question and my "air-flow" comment. I've taken hits off super low ohm builds on mechs, well in the 100W+ category at some of our local vape meets and not felt any, and I do mean ANY heat or harshness. Just smooth creamy inhales and absolutely ridiculous clouds on exhale. These are usually dual coil drippers, with WIDE open air-flow and Max VG (75 - 80%) juice.
Can you replicate that with the sub-tank mini? not exactly, but you should be able to come quite close with what you have on there. Wide open air-flow, lung hit, and 25W or so should give you a decent idea of what I'm talking about. Just make sure that the wick is well saturated.

As Dusty said , all the variables have to line up . A .5 ohm build in my Rose V2's isn't even warm , it'd probably melt my 3.1's insulater , a .5 ohm build in the regular Magma is warm , in the 31mm version it's not , a .7 build in the Aqua V2 is on par with a 1.2 ohm build in a Kayfun , the .3 ohm build I'm running now is warm but not hot . everything has to lineup to get the best results .
