Which wire gauge to use? Think I'll just stay out on the fringe and use my ribbon wire. Carry on.
Man, Blake sent me this tip to check out and I got to say, it's a perfect fit for the PanMag. RJ noted that the 3 rings on it went with the 3 rings on the Panzer. COD freaks, what are you gonna do? Anyway, I wanted to post these shots. I thought it was a striking drip tip. It's quite a wide one too, easy to drip into if that's your poison.

I may get adventurous enough to try ribbon sometime. You'll be the go-to expert.
That is a beauty! Are they available for sale somewhere? The one that came with the Stingray is wide bore, and I love it.

I don't know about expert. I just found something I really like and pretty much quite experimenting and looking for anything else. I keep telling myself I'm going to lower my ohms to 1 or just under. But the 1.3 @ 21watts, 5.3 volts works so well I haven't been able to bring myself to do it. I'll have to do it at some point just so I know how it is.![]()
I have a few questions I know you gurus and "double gurus" can answer. Now that Bronze mentioned clones, what is the best Provari clone out there? Is it the Vamo?
Also, I noticed different preferences between you guys regarding the number of wraps you like to do. I notice Dust and Chak like less wraps while Bronze likes to do a hundred if allowed. So what are the pros and cons of each method?
EDIT- One more question...did all of you guys have to drop nic levels and increase VG ratios when upgrading to rda/rba's? I worry my 18mg 70/30 PG/VG juices will be too harsh now.
Also, in case this info helps, I normally vape them in clearos (T4's around 2.5-2.7ohm), on spinners/twists set between 3.9 to 4.2 volts.
for what it's worth (less than
, I bet). What are you vaping at those levels, David? Topper and Juices?
Legend, Serendipity, and DF along with PB when I have it. It's in the KFL and the ribbon is .6 x 1.
Thanks, Retic! The blinking is built into the DNA chip, according to the Evolv DNA 30 data sheet. It's a tiny area on a tiny screen, so it's not lighting up the room or anything. But I'd love a way to make it stop.
Here it is side by side with the Provari. Both are in 18490 mode. The Provari body is taller by 5/8".

Got to check out a copper Panzer at the BM yesterday , Arrrrrrggggghhhhh it was even better than I expected dammit . I really need some quiet time to work on the Stingray , the switch is driving me nuts to the point that the big Panzer made the trip with me instead , kinda the opposite of what I had in mind whenI bought the X . With hindsight being the best , I wish Vape Royalty had picked this up sooner , it has the advantage of stainless over copper , but a single copper tube , less threads to worry about , and since smaller batteries would be suicide with some of the builds I try , I only use 650's . HCigar Changeling Mod Clone
The negative contact keeps working it's way in on mine and it will stop firing , it needs to stay 2-3 full turns out to clear the delrin , I can't loctite it since it's the only way to adjust for battery length , I'm gonna have to be real careful and crimp it a tiny bit with pliers to give the threads a little more bite but I'll mangle it if I try it when my wife's yapping at me ,The switch was driving me nuts on my Copper Stingray retic. I took it apart and polished it with that purple metal polish I use. It wasn't enough so I took some sand paper, can't remember the grit, I think it was 1200, and sanded the male part just a tad then polished the parts that I thought were making it sensitive to where you had to push it to not have it click or get hung up. The switch is very smooth right now, but I won't be getting another one. After using mods like the Gus or GP, that Stingray switch just p's me right off. But it is working good now that I spent hours on it.
Try a coil at 28g around a 3/32 bit with 8-9 wraps and see if that is close. I'm actually getting interested in VV/VW
I have a cousin who we met up with yesterday at a fine dining establishment in Birmingham. He tried my Herons and really liked them. He wants to quit chewing. He wants to get into vaping. I'm a bad one to ask this about as I took a lot of short cuts and ended up getting into the high end stuff very hard core.
If you were going to build an aspiring vapor a starting kit, what would you do? I plan on spending a few hours with him to get him acclimated to the gear, building coils, et.al., but am having a conundrum as to which way to take him. VV? Mech? He's very smart and probably already has everything he needs to build micro's safely.
So, toppers. I really dislike the Kayfun. And with him driving like I do, living on top of a mountain in WV., I don't see that as a good option. Maybe I'm wrong? I don't know. I'm looking for some good advice on what I can set him up with.
Help a brother out.
Get him started with a regulated device and an Aspire Nautilus BVC topper in either the regular or mini size based on the choice of device.
Yup the mini has a vertical coil with a ceramic wick , it's been getting excellent reviews .Are they using that ceramic wicking material in the Nautilus?
