That is likely what is happening. Aside from the AW 490s the Efest fits. I purchased 3 more from a local shop and they were too long. I then noticed they are Efest 18500s, not 18490s.
I've seen a couple of posts stating that people are getting minor gaps on the bottom cap from the battery being a little to long. I have to wonder if some of these folks are using 18500s as opposed to 18490s.

Spring? I just got one from him as a replacement and there is no spring at all

There is a spring at the bottom of the battery cap and it has a strong spring. Then at the top where the 510 cap meets the mod there is a contact plate that is supposed to go up and down with the spring. I have read that peoples spring on that is extremely stiff so it hinders you being able to adjust the pin to where your atomizer sits flush and the cap sit flush. On mine it is quite springy and my kayfun sits perfectly flush which people have had a problem with. I will get some pics up later at night when I get back home.

Mine has the spring under the copper disc under the top cap also. But it doesn't spring down far enough to allow a Kayfun or others to sit flush. That little "white thing" is probably solder. You can barely see the same thing on mine if you look closely. Oh and I love these pics! Keep 'em coming. Love that Russian 91% sittin' up there. Need to get me one. Love the finish on that thing. And the Taifun GT. Looks manly sitting there, I'll tell you what.

I am not understanding what that spring has to do with an atty sitting flush. The top cap has no spring and that is what my russian is going on not the Z2 threads. So if it sits flush on the top cap you are good. If not what does the spring under the top cap have to do with an atty threading onto the top cap? Is there something i am missing? I hope so as i also have some attys i would like to flush mount.

Taifun gt! I don't mind the gap but I'm going to file down the 510 screw and see how it looks.

Not trying to be insulting either way. Is that a clone or the original taifun GT? I forget which thread, but someone posted a pic of the zna and original taifun GT ant it sits flush..... just curious if there are variances.
