I would assume that you could be. If I went door to door selling homemade cookies and they ended up poisoning people, I would expect to get sued. So if you mess up the nic level and it affects someone's health, or possibly even sell someone a bottle without a childproof lid and their kid gets into it and suffers harm, you could possibly be held liable in a civil court. Or if you're mixing with flavors with diacetyl and someone gets popcorn lung... there are a lot of possibilities.

Are they really your friends if you are selling them DIY juice and worried about them suing you? Why not have them buy the supplies and supervise them making the juice themselves? If you're selling DIY juice to friends, then you probably don't have much to be sued for... Maybe I'm being presumptuous but anyone who sells a friend something that costs a dollar or so to make probably doesn't have much in terms of assets. If that's the case, I wouldn't sweat it.

Hello

I have several friends that I have helped in switching to vaping. My question is this: am I liable for any type of legal issues if I, as an individual not a store or business, sell any of my diy fluid to my friends? Input is very appreciated.
Yes you are liable unless you have them sign a release of liability form. However, I would check with your local laws about liability issues. Personal injury lawyers are a dime a dozen.
I did a google search and it seems most vendors have some sort of disclaimer. Just look OP.

Sorry can't get my search up here. I hope you get the jest of things.

Good luck!

No, not as long as the poster is in the USA. The US is pretty wide open as to who can sue who for what.

That is why our ladders are covered in warning labels, our fan belts warn against removing and installing while the engine is running, and our hot beverages come in containers warning that they contain hot beverages.

In the past I've been found liable by the court for damages caused by horribly stupid usage of one of my machines that violated nearly every warning label on the machine.

If its only a few buddy then whip up a couple batches and just give it to them. Iv been making juice for family an friends for a while now and I wouldn't charge someone money unless I'm starting a juice business. Just give them a bottle or 2 if they like it. Youl be out $2 a bottle at best.

Think of all the money you have saved giving up analogs and be thankful.

I reload my own ammo and always have people wanting me to reload some for them. I refuse to do it, but tell them if they buy the components they can use my equipment and I'll walk them through the whole process. I also refuse to shoot ammo that somebody else reloaded. If something happened to somebody using my ammo, even if it was because of an error on their part, I'd feel terrible. Even if nobody got sued it could easily be a very bad situation. I haven't started DIYing but when/if I do, I'll be the same way about my juice.

I wouldn't imagine you'd be any more liable than if you baked them some peanut butter cookies with pecans and they had to impale themselves with an EpiPen due to a nut allergy.

I make juice for my son, my other son's gf, and her brother. When I get my nic, I always check it with a nic testing kit, so I know exactly what I'm dealing with. I make it for them, and they pay cost for it. They have no diy stuff and can't afford it. I have a big stock of nic, pg, vg, and flavors. I am very careful when mixing, and have told them to keep it away from children.

Tacoma Wa,
I have been wondering this as well.
I sell my diy to coworkers who have started vaping... i only charge for what it costs to make..
I always remind them about locking it up.. and send them reminder facebook messages about it and even place reminders on my facebook page about he warnings.
And i put warnings on the labels i print out for the bottles...but I know there are some absent minded people who don't read labels..

Sometimes i worry they don't follow directions.
