8 weeks ago I upgraded to a new Titan 510 and purchased a new usb passthrough with my new kit and caboodle

I do use the USB PT a lot – I’m in front of my PC most of the day, I also use it in the car and I even have a mains adapter so its a well used piece of kit

I did think it was getting weaker but wondered if I was imagining it and have tried my best performing att on it and different juices etc etc.

Last week when ordering spares etc I asked TECC if I should replace the battery – they replied no even with my usage it should not need replacing for 6-12 months.

Anyway, I decided to order another USB passthru as I use it so much and now I am today using my brand new USB PT I know for sure the old one has weakened considerably! Its like a whole new experience again!

So now I wonder is it the passthru itself that’s knackered or does the rechargeable battery actually need replacing?

Thanks for any help with this

OK well the results indicate it is the USB passthru itself that is knackered and NOT the rechargable battery

When putting the new battery in the old USB PT I get much weaker performance and weirdly intermittent working - virtually every other vape does not work. I tried leaving a longer gap between vapes and I tried engaging the button without vaping to try and override this "every other vape" scenario but it didnt make any difference.

Therefore my old USB PT (only 8 weeks old) is knackered as not only is it weak when it does work but it only works every other vape.

This indicates the battery did not need replacing as it is powering my new USB PT fine

Thank you

Swan

Take this for what it's worth as I don't own a usb pass-through, but was the new rechargeable battery actually charged when you put it in the old PT? I ask only because it is my understanding, at least from reading up on them, that the USB PT still operates off of a battery, and just happens to be continually recharging it. So excessive use can drain the battery and the USB PT will not be able to keep up with recharging it.

So the net effect of all of that, is if you vape constantly you should treat the USB PT as a really long lasting battery, but a battery nonetheless, and so it needs time to recharge.

My Titan USB pass-through is about 8 weeks old too, and has just stopped working. I was NOT a heavy user though as I have several other e-cigs. I did a check on the battery with a voltmeter and its fine. I checked between the battery and the end of the pass-through where it touches the atomizer and found there to be a significant volt drop. Obviously there was nothing till I pressed the button, but once I did, again, I went from 4.5 volts on the battery to 3.0 coming out of the atomizer end.

My honest opinion is that these things were designed to break. My other titan electronic cigs get about half the battery life they did just a few months ago when I bought them. My titan super size battery is only a few weeks old and its now started to crap out too.

We’ll see how Totally Wicked handles it tomorrow when i call. The last time I had problems they were "totally" useless and things went unresolved. I had a bunch of problems with smoke51 batteries too which after the second replacement they sent that was DOA I just demanded a refund.

I do not know what is so difficult about making an e-cig that’s not a piece of crap. Maybe if they decided to make them somewhere other than china, there might not be these problems. I could have bought a generic Joy510 for half the price but I figured a brand name would be better quality. For new people getting into this for the first time, look elsewhere for generics. I have yet to have any problems with my cheep generic e-cigs.
