Hi there,
First post here. I WAS a social/light smoker before I started vaping 2 weeks ago. I maybe smoked 5 a day max and anything up to 10 cigarettes on a night out. Whilst I am feeling the benefits of not smoking I feel like I may be overdoing a bit. Am I getting myself more addicted? The reason I am concerned is because I can easily finish 1 cartridge in an evening which according to the packet is the equivalent to 20 cigrettes. This seems like a lot of nicotine... perhaps more than what I used to smoke! As I said I feel better for not smoking but should I be concerned I am enjoying vaping a little too much? FYI I use the Medium Nicolite cartridges.

I'm finding I'm similar as I'll vape all day and a cartridge will last me 2 days max(if that) and a pack use to last me 3-4 days(on average). Health wise, I haven't noticed a big change, other than my lungs healing up. The way I see it, you are finding what you like, plus it's something you can easily pick up when bored, kind of like bored eating, but instead bored vaping. The only issue I'd really notice is cost of cartridges, depending on how much they run you and if you refill or not.
Welcome to the site and have fun. :)

There is no equivalent to tobacco cigarettes, and frankly I wish people would stop advertising that. You are going to vape differently than you used to smoke. Your not going to count 20 puffs and then put you PV down until you want another vape. Your going to vape until you feel satisfied and then put it down and come back to it when you feel the need.

Your not over doing it. I vape 7-10 mils a day.

If your referring to carts like the blu carts you buy at walgreens then trust me one is nowhere near a pack of cigarettes. I have found that one of those is maybe the equivalent of 4 or 5 cigs. I could go through one of those in an hour easy, they are very dry.

I now fill my own cartomizers with e-juice and they do last me all night.

It all depends on how you vape. I found that during my down time at home, dripping is the most efficient way to vape if you want to conserve juice. You drip 3 drops into your atomizer, through the drip tip, let sit for a moment to prime, then start vaping. Go from there. A drop here, two drops there, get up, do something, two drops in the atty, 4 drags, 2 more drops, 4 more drags. More like "smoking". Carts and tanks are good for out and about and driving.

nicotine makes you become addicted. same as how i was a social smoker and turned heavy. my concern is i will be vaping more from the nicotine addiction. does this even make sense? i hope it's not the case as my lungs are heavy from all the cigarettes and it's the main reason i moved into vaping.

I can go 5 or 6 hour stretches at work without the nicotine. I vape more when I start getting tired. I want the flavor more than I want nicotine sometimes. I have 24mg nic juice, 12mg, and zero. I use the 24mg at work to wake up.

I also was wondering how many of us vape more than we smoke. Me. I think its because it becomes a fun hobby with different gadgets and different flavors. Me. Some of us are chasing the Dragon, so to speak. Me. Some of us need professional help to break the cycle. Me.
And lastly, it keeps most of us out of prison. Me.:D
Enjoy OP and GL!

I would recommend you may want read some of the health and medical forum sections here on ecf you might find some more concrete answers to your questions. Also all previous posts are correct using a pv is way different from firing up a tobacco based unit. A cartomizer holds nowhere near the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes. I'm not sure if anyone or organization is currently studying how much actual nicotine is being delivered or rather absorbed by vapping. I believe that will depend on the person because everyones body processes things differently. I Can say from my personal experience that I am taking in way less nicotine than when I smoked tobacco I say this because I feel the difference. When I first made the switch I did vape more at first but that was just until I found the right mg level of e liquid. Then it leveled out for me and now I've lowered it actually my goal being eventually to being nicotine free. I hope some of this makes sense to you and maybe helps you find your answers.

I went from smoking 2-3 packs of Winston L 100's to vaping 3-4 ml/day. My juices run anywhere from 9mg to 24mg strength, as I'm trying a variety of juices. On my higher output devices, I'm dropping my nic levels.

I no longer wake up with cravings. Not even for my vapes, honestly. I used to wake-up thinking "CIGARETTE" every morning.

For me, I don't worry too much. I know I'm getting better with vaping (my 10 coughs/hour is gone).

You know that with juices, you can reduce your nicotine level all the way to zero, right? ;)

You may be sensitive to PG. Google the carts you're using and see if they are PG based. I started using drops from Tececig and smoking that made my chest feel like I was asthmatic. I've since turned to VG based drops (mix my own) and have none of the asthmatic feeling as before. Check your nic level too and maybe drop down to 12-6 mg if concerned about the nic level. GL!

1 cartridge in an evening which according to the packet is the equivalent to 20 cigrettes.

And according to FDA I am dead after 123 heart attacks.
This misleading information is floating around all the time.

Edit: Pack a day translated to ~5ml a day of 18mg ejuice for me. Depends on juice quality. Some vendors make me almost drink their juice woth the awesome flavor they provide...

Vape until you're satisfied. Don't even try to figure out "how many cigarettes" a cart/tank is, it's like the Tootsie Pop Owl... The World May Never Know!
You Will know if you get too much nicotine for you! Drink more fluids and otherwise, enjoy yourself.
