VG ? Check
PG ? Check
Nic ? Check
Assorted measuring devices ? Check
Flavours ? Check
Clean bottles ? Check

And I grind to a halt.

I bought a DIY Kit off the Classified that has a number of flavours. The trouble is that none of them are exactly inspiring me to actually start DIY'ing. So thought where best to ask for advice but my local Recipe Centre !

So here is your task should you choose to accept it.

I have can you think of a recipe to make me sit up and open the bottles please ?

Caramel
Peanut Butter
Peppermint
Sweet Cream
Hazelnut
Pumpkin Spice
Milk Chocolate
Green Apple
Red Cow Flavor

2. Milk Chocolate & Peanut Butter
3. Caramel & Milk Chocolate
4. Chocolate Hazelnut
5......Just mix what sounds good to you, you didn't specify the brands, so the ratios/percentages may vary. Usually 10-20% flavoring, you can also use all of these as standalone flavors to start with to see what you like and then tweak them.

Just have fun & start with small batches ;)

Thank you for replying.

I have come to the realisation that I am going about this wrong after a little playing. It is true to say that I am not a fan of any of the flavors listed as strong in your face flavors. That said for the first time today I dripped just some plain VG and really enjoyed it.

I am thinking a 1- 2% addition of peppermint would be a nice understated tincture of flavor to enhance slightly rather than dominate. A bit of subtlety that I haven't experienced before.

Now I am interested!

You could just start out with a plain batch of unflavored mix at your desired nic level. See what it tastes like with no flavors (it's actually pretty good) and then make small batches, start low with the flavoring and work your way up. Vaping unflavored gives me a base line for adding flavors. It also has a "palate cleansing" effect when I get that dreaded "Help, I can't taste my juices anymore" syndrome. I've found that people mix like they cook.. some take a gourmet approach with many different flavors at different percentages and have no problem following a complicated recipe. I am a simple cook. (and I'm OK with that LOL) so I tend to take the simple approach. I always keep a Big base of my desired percentages and nic strength. (p/30 PG/VG and 12mg nic) and then add a few drops of what I want to mix in smaller batches. I always like what I come up with. But that's just me :)

Not sure how I messed the nic up lol I have 36mg nic, I vape 18mg. Pretty simple maths to figure that out !

I fixed it by adding more VG and all is good. Only made 10ml as an initial batch at 2% flavouring. Yes I do rather like the unflavoured vape.

Think I will follow the pre-mix idea. I don't intend on using anymore than 5% flavouring and that won't impact the nic strength very much.
