Well it took a while to find time but I finally got around to drilling air bleed holes through the deck of the L+ just like my top performing Aspire Quad Flex RDTAs.
The two holes are .020" dia and have a small counter sink (dimple) on the top side of the deck.
No more high vacuum problems. The juice flows freely now to the wicks without having to worry about dry hits from over stuffing the juice channels with wick tail. No more having to pull the top cap off to release tank vacuum (burping). No leaking when lying on it's side.
Chain vaping at 100w with .27 ohm, 7 wrap, 3mm, 28/36 fused claptons is a joy now, just as it is with the Quad Flex at 80w. No wait time required between pulls; just like a dripper.
Flavor is better too because the wicks aren't starving for juice after a few consecutive 3 sec pulls.

Air bleed holes are the future and the future is now.:w00t:

Pics to follow. Right now I'm enjoying vaping it. :p

Bought a 0.6mm drill bit. Got two Limitless Plus, so going to experiment on one of them today. Aren't too many places to drill holes, so. I hope it will go well. :) It's the smallest drill bit I have seen. I hope I will not break it. Had to buy a set of bits. Would have bought two or three single 0.6mm if I could.

Put the atty down and take some pics!! LOL Interested in seeing this since I should be getting mine in a day or two.
Ok Okaaaaay already. Lol.

I didn't have very sharp bits on hand so the countersinks on the top side are a little rough and the small air bleed holes aren't centered very well. Proof it doesn't have to look perfect to work great.

Oh great. In order to get that tiny bit to start drilling where you want you need to make a starter dimple with a larger bit, like a 2-3mm or a centering drill if you have one, then swap out to the .6mm without moving the piece in your drill press. Don't ask how I know:blush:

Wish I read that this before I tried! Thank you for the help. Will have to get a new 0.6 (0.5)mm bit as it snapped. It hardly made a mark in the steel. Tried with a 0.8mm, and it worked a tiny bit better, until it snapped. Very cheap bits, so I will look for some of better quality.

Ordered these: 25x Mini Micro Twist Drill Bits 0.5mm-3mm Straight Shank PCB Twist EW Will take 2-3-4 weeks before I get them.

Aww crap. Better luck next time. Yeah, those tiny bits require a starter dimple otherwise they'll wander and start cutting off of verical. Sure fire recipe for drill bending/breaking. Something else that might help when drilling stainless is you want a low rpm and lots of lube. Gotta keep those bits and SS cool or the SS will work harden making it impossible to drill without a solid cobalt or solid carbide bit.

I've got my eye on this for future RDTA air bleed hole modifications. They have centering bits and spot drills as well.

When I come to think about it... I don't really have any wicking problems at all when using rayon. With Fiber Freaks I cannot run my Noisy Cricket II in parallel cause the wick gets too wet. Doesn't give enough power.
Ditto for me with Rayon in my Limitless Combo in TC mode. I have tried vaping at the same power in VW mode and every time I get a dry hit first pull. I am not about to drill my deck so I will just use this RDTA in TC mode.

I prefer this tank in TC. I find it performs best for me with dual Claptons, but the ramp up time is bothersome, and the vape gets too hot by the end of the puff. In TC I get a nice preheat to temp, then a steady throughout. It made the tank far more pleasant for me.

I have found myself bringing the temp down on mine (and my goon clone) from 470-480 when I first set it up now down to 450. I am running 26/36 SS Clapton, 6 wrap spaced, 0.23ohm at 75w max watts. It hasn't been wicked since the end of November so I will probably be re-wicking and dry burning the coils today or tomorrow. I am wondering if I maybe just left my rayon tails too thick/thin for wattage mode but I generally prefer TC vaping so I am not going to worry too much about it.

About the same as mine, even to the Clapton build. Preheat 100W for 1 second, then 60W 450F and a great vape both flavor and cloud. Wattage, never a dry hit, but too hot after 2 seconds of a draw.

I used to be limited to around 65w in power mode with 28/36, 3mm, 7 wrap fused ss claptons but with the air bleed mod I'm having a great time at 92-95w. No dry hits even taking multiple consecutive 3 sec pulls with 80vg. Using rayon with no tail thinning at all. Tails are cut very short. Just below the deck. The flavor is full on dripper flavor now too.

Would like to own a mod with preheat. Is it a DNA device you got?

Yes, it's a DNA, but other TC mods have added preheat of late, including the RX200/S and the Pico. I expect any other mods made by the same companies that can use the same firmware updates will support that as well.

the preheat for these devices only work in wattage mode, not tc mode. I think the nfetoolbox w/ arctic fox firmware has a preheat method in tc mode but do not quote me on that as I quickly gave up testing that firmware after a short try and went back to the wismec firmware on my rx mod.
