You know that the Kensington battery pack has a year warranty. you should check into it.

Yeah i know, but i have this thing about stuff that doesn't work, i want to throw it away, haha. It could have been me tripping the protection and stuff that was stated previously.

I ordered an APC 10WH, model UPB10. Found it for 30 bucks on Amazon, its listed for 80 by most sellers, but there was one that had it for 30 bucks new, i was like, ummm, ok, lets give it a shot. Seems to be working great thus far. I will keep everyone posted. It has higher output than the Kensington...10w at 2a instead of 1.5a, so i think it will suffice.

Anyone use the Apple usb plug? it is the most simple option and outputs at 5V/1A
From what i have read, 1a won't do, you are going to need a little over 1.5 or it won't work very well, or at all.

i went with a 5v 2a i will give it a couple of weeks before i give it the thumbs up.

Edited for this, its the APC 10WH Model UPB 10 outputs 5v 2a. Says its 10Watts max, 8 watts continuous. There is more info about it earlier on this thread i think.

I got the Totally Wicked 510 Titan and it works great with the USB port and the Kensington Ultra Portable Battery Pack, bought at Best Buy....... I use it with the Titan Pass Through continuously when I am on the go...... The battery Pack says it is good for I-Pods, Cell Phones, Cameras and GPS....... Been working great for me.......

That TW PT is limited in it's power throughput. It will work with a 500mAh power source. The PS PT uses the full 5v and up to 1500mAh. There is a very large difference on performance too.

I have a 2 amp / 5v USB wall adapter and it started to trip within a couple of days. Wonderful when it works. I've tried several atomizers in both 801 and 510 variety of multiple brands and they all tend to trip up both the Kensington and the 2amp wall adapter. But I found a way to make them work.

By unscrewing the atty until it is loose, then ever so slightly screw it in until the first sign of resistance, I can get the PT to work. The atty is sloppy/flopping a little and I have to hold it tight in place with my thumb, but it works.

If my brand new PT can regularly trip the protection on my beefy 2 amp, with multiple brands of 510 and 801 attys, then I'm a little concerned.

Wow, tripping your Kensington AND the 2 Amp AC/USB wall adapter. I've never had either trip regardless of the atty I was using. I have heard of Kensingtons tripping with the USBPass but never a 2Amp adapter. Either all of your atty's have an unusually low resistance or there may actually be a short somewhere in the PT itself. If you have a multimeter you may want to check the resistance of your atty's and/or the PT itself.

I'm using kr808d1 cartomizers with v4l pt and T Mobil my touch 3G car charger rated at 5v 1A. The charger costs $25 at Walmart (in store). This set up performs better for me than a NEW fully charged kr battery. I'm very pleased. And if the charger fails, Walmarts return policies are very liberal.

I might have found the winner here. And I guarantee you, you will not find a cheaper one on the market. Its a small AC to USB 2amp max port. Here's the link:

USB Dual Power Adapter

$1.95 for the unit and $1.95 for the shipping(order as many as you'd like)

I just got it yesterday and it works great(better then my Kensington). The only problem I can see is the shipping took a little longer then I like(about 8 days), but the guy is super easy to get ahold of(his name is Steve) and he says he will make sure the shipping improves. Mention your buying this from the e-cig forum and he'll make sure you get it quickly. He also states he has alot left in stock. They are not made cheaply either. You'll be suprised at the packaging when you receive it.

I just got this in today I figured for the price why not give it a shot. I am loving it, it works a lot better than my previously posted rig and it is super cheap. I still dont have a way to test exactly what the power output is, but I wouldn't want it any stronger. I am going to order a few more for spares.

Thanks!

Yeah the $1.95 2Amp AC/USB adapter is really awesome. I was the 1st one to order one and have had it for several weeks now. Still going strong and working like the 1st day I got it. Again for anyone who wants one, here's the link.

USB Dual Power Adapter

two questions:

1. the ps usbpass has an output of 5 volts, which is the equivalent of a prodigy?

2. the usb dual power adapter has an output of 5 volts as well, giving the maximum necessary output needed? 1000mah as well?

1. Yes the ps usbpass operates at 5 volts or what ever voltage you attach to it

2. the usb dual power adapter puts out 5 volts and is capable of supplying 2 amps of power so it works very well with the ps usbpass allowing it to function at full performance.

Thank you for that great deal on the USB Dual Power Adapter! I ordered two of them. I just ordered the new version of the USB PT and I'm so excited! Good thing you bumped this thread, or I would have dropped who knows how much trying all kinds of different adapters. :)

It's not my deal per say, I'm not selling them or in kahoots with the guy who is. I just happened upon the site one day(as a matter of fact it may have been linked in a totally different thread by someone else-I can't remember). But, yeah, it's definitely the best/cheapest adapter I have found. And, as I said previously, I've had mine for about 2 months now and they are still going strong.

markarich thanks so much for your research I ordered a couple just in case my kensington poops out. But I have used the kensington for over a month now with pretty heavy vapin and it is awesome. I too paid the full price but worth it to me.

No problem, The Kensington is a great unit, BUT, I can already tell(after about 2 months of pretty heavy use) it's starting to lose it's umph. It still works, but discharges more quickly then it did in the beginning. It also will not power my USBpass any lower then 3 blue lights showing(once it goes from full 5 to 3 lights - time for a recharge). I just don't think it was made for this type of constant heavy duty current draw. It's still going though.
