I'm using a nickle coil with my evic VT and they work wonderfully. That said I don't notice a difference in vape quality from a good kanthral coil with a well adjusted VW mod. If you aren't hitting your coil with too much power, burning your juice, the only difference is TC is easier to adjust to find that sweet spot.
Using a 3 mm i.d. twisted 30 ga 9 wrap ni200 coil that comes out to .13 ohms in a Taifun GT on a DNA 40 box. Love it!

I see no reason to ever make another Kanthal coil (except for my super-stealth set-up). Since switching to Ti coils, even my dual coil drippers are all built for TP. But with Ti, they can still be used on my cool old mech-mods...but I don't know why I'd ever want to do that...I DID hear a rumor that a TP "Kick" was in the works!?!

Kat for starting this thread and to the rest of you for your contributions. As a girly girl with small hands, I prefer a tube mod but it's difficult to find one with more than 5V power. Has anyone got an opinion on this:

Thank you, CJ! I'm nothing if not a proficient and prolific thread starter.

Wish I could give you an opinion on the iJust, but iJust have zero clue. The wattage range is 30 to 80??? Yeah, I'm out.

Hopefully someone else can chime with something useful.

Hi, CalamityJan. Welcome to the thread...

Understand that the iJust 2 battery is just a fancy mechanical mod. It simply provides direct battery voltage to the attached atomizer. With the abbreviated electronics in the device, it will provide 4.2V freshly charged and slowly decrease to 3.2V, when it is time to recharge the battery.

For something that has a similar feel to a tube mod, at a very reasonable price, I highly recommend the iStick 30W. At approximately $30, it provides 2-8V or 5-30W. I am currently unaware of a similarly priced tube mod that provides the same performance. Many of the smaller handed members on this thread swear by it.

Good luck!

Well dayum, here I was hoping to find the unicorn mod. Thanks, alden, I have both a 20 and a 30 but still fall back on my Spinners when I leave the house. I've given away all the heavier mods that I tried over the years. Might be because I "grew up" on the 510's and ego's with LR atties, but I just feel better holding the smaller tubes when I stroll the aisles of Wally's World. Maybe once the market is saturated with the box mods, the designers will have no place to go but round.

Mods are like everything else, ymmv. The iJust2 is fairly new out and there might be YouTube videos appearing on it. My impression was that it's a variation of the Ego ONE and some would call that "just an unregulated mod" but it seems to work well. I'm curious about it too. Not everything is about power/wattages. Form is equally important.

Consider.....

Also available in a Mini = 850mAh and 16mm diameter - the above 'standard size' comes in 1100mAh or 2200mAh and is 19mm, or a Mega 2600mAh and 22mm diam.

I've watched the eGo One and the iHybrid for some time now but neither are exactly what I'm looking for. With the eGo you're still getting just 4.2v, correct Kent? Although with the lower ohm atties you do get the warmth I enjoy. They call this a clearo but can a different style atomizer be used on the battery.... i.e. it's just a standard 510 connection battery, right? Thanks for the suggestion tho. ♥

You're right - it's the clearos that make the vapor :) .5 and 1.0 so there's no V/W adjustments. You'd have to go evic, some of the later Vamos, Sigelei tubes for that. I just picked one up from a suggestion from Vicki at cignot - considered it a bit of a 'backwards' move going from eGos to the Defender and Subox, but it suits a purpose and so far no problems. I got the 1100mAh batt which is really small but matched it with the 2.5ml topper for capacity. I use the 1.0Ω coil and likely will not use the 0.5 :- )

It is a 510 connection but I just stuck a GS Air M on it and no connection - no spring loaded pin. A circuit board spacer would likely fix that, although I'll likely just keep the ego one tank on it.

edit: I like aikanae's suggestion Aspire - they also have the 'Maxx' and the plain 'Mod' versions from that same link....

The Ijust 2 isn't skinny, its 22mm. If you want small and skinny the original ego one is 18mm and I think the ego one mini is 16mm. That said, they too are basically battery provided mech mods. The mini only has an 800 mah battery, and the original is either 1100 mah or 2200 mah (depending on whether you are getting an original or an xl). But again, not vv or vw.

There are several reviews on youtube bout both set ups if you're interested.

***Darn it!! I really need to start reading entire threads before responding, and then going back*** Sorry for duplicative information. In case you are still curious about the ijust 2, here is a review from an ECFer:

If you want to stay in the $30 price range, you have one of the various versions of the VAMO. My VAMO v3 & VAMO v5 box mod still work great after almost a year. You can find many options, up to 55W, for under $30. The vape quality would be similar to the iStick 20W. They're not particularly small at 22mm in diameter and up to 140mm in height. They run off of single 18650 or 18350 or dual 18350 batteries. To obtain higher than 30W, you have to use the in-series dual 18350 setup ("stacking"). Here's a listing for everything VAMO at FastTech.

Found 200 vamo at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

A better option might be the Tesla Sidewinder for under $30. 146x22mm, single 18650 and up to 25W. Trusted USA supplier: Coupon code "YEAHBABY" takes 10% off the $30.99 price.

PVS & Mods | Tesla Sidewinder 25W | VaporBeast

OriginVape has the 20W Innokin iTaste SVD 2.0 with Evolv chipset on clearance for $44.95.

Innokin SVD 2.0 Full Kit with Evolv Chip - $44.99

If you dig around on the web, there are many options. The SVD 2.0 would definitely outlive your interest... For more money, you have the Provaris, Dicodes, etc.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
