I never had a 30w but I have had two 50w. Both failed within a month, so I'm done with that company.

I've never had a 50W istick, but have heard there were/are issues with it. I have 2X 20W iSticks and a 30W istick, and they all work fine, and have for months. :)

I've had a couple of iStick30s since April, and both have worked perfectly ever since -- and I even dropped the first one, the very first day i had it, but it still works perfectly.

I bought my first iStick 20w in Oct. '14. After that, I acquired 4 more for a total cost of just over $100. All the ones I use still work. One hasn't been used yet. I must admit that I only use them when I'm out and about. I have a homemade passthrough that I use at home.

Well, some are just lucky...

And, while it's not my primary device, my iStick 20, in spite of running hot at the lower end (where I usually vape), has had no problems in the 4 -5 months I've had it.

Sometimes a maker - of just about anything! - will get hit with either a bad run of parts from their supplier, or a bad batch off the line. So there will be a "clump" of bad units. IF they address it quickly and honestly, kudos. If not, yeah, on the do not buy list!

I have 5 20w and 4 30w iSticks that are working perfectly as designed. One 20w and a 30w recently died as the result of a Coke overdose of the cola kind.

Eleaf has a 3 month warranty on their products. If the seller does not honor the warranty contact Eleaf. A receipt and serial number from the original packaging are needed. I do not have the Eleaf contact email. If needed, perhaps someone here can provide the info.

FWIW, I do not buy any vaping gear as soon as it comes out. I let the early adopters do the beta testing. The 50w had known problems soon after it was on the market.

Best of luck with your future purchases.

My 1st iStick 20 lasted about 72 Hours. It died a Quick (and Hopefully painless) death in a tragic Dental Pick Accident.

My 2nd iStick 20 still Works. But it's 510 Threads are about Gone.

My 3rd iStick 20 is going Strong. In fact, I am hitting on it right Now to test out a New GS Air M tank that arrived Today.

except for the 50 watts there have been very few problems reported with the istick line up ;)

naturally, kent c had to find them :D

Come on... I'm not the only one - check the early (and later) istick threads just here (you don't need to go to reddit  ). That said - they seemed to have fixed their early problems with the 20 and 30W but as far as I know, never have addressed the self-firing of the 50W. After 6 or 7 early deaths of the 20 & 30W's I've had, where my Defenders bought near the same time, live on, and feel better in my hand, I simply have no use for the isticks myself, but... they (the 30W mainly) are good for those starting out in the itty-bitty box mode, and for those who like them and have no use for replaceable batteries. (or higher watts).

one last note - one could easily say that they brought the small box mod style into existence - with gracious nods to some that came before but not with these particular features - for that, they are the eGos of box mods - a style that one would think will last quite a while - I'm guessing - longer than eGos, but who knows? Soon we may have to get a prescription for any of them... kidding, ......kinda....

This exactly. If you wait, a) the prices drop, and b) problems become known. I'm extremely interested in the new Innokin Disrupters (despite their misspelling of 'disruptor'), but... they're still new. I'll wait a while, see if their initial hoopla remains solid, or if problems emerge, and meanwhile, prices will drop.

I'm also very interested in the SX Mini M Class, but the prices are still too high for me, despite what seems to be a very solid reputation. I'll keep waiting; maybe next year they'll drop enough that I can reasonably afford one.

I lost my Heatvape Defender! One of my fave mods! I went out yesterday morning with 2 mods, my Defender and a 20 watt iStick (still working great after almost a year). The tank Ihad on the Defender started leaking, so I took it off and put both in my purse and used the iStick. Purse never left the car til I got home. Went to get the Defender out to check the charge due to travel today and no where to be found. I looked everywhere and no can find. It must be in the house (or something I packed for the trip), but it is such a mystery I am kinda freaked out. Oh well, I will just have to buy another when I can. I love that device!

Oh ditto on the tear, clnire! I do hope it shows up. We'll keep fingers xxxxxxxxxxxxx'd for ya!

Kent, I think as you do. The little 'Sticks were the eGos of the new little itty bitty box mod culture. In fact, I'll share here what I posted in the 'Stick thread.

Happy one year to my original 'Sticks. Of those original 7, I have only one left - my pink 20w. (I later got a few more including my current black 30.)

Happy Birthday, little itty bitty mod, who started the total craze of 2014/2015. :D

I am sure my Defender will turn up; it doesn't have legs to walk away! I just put it somewhere or it fell somewhere in the house. Dang, getting old sucks!

Fall out in the car?

Oh, come ON. You CAN'T stop THERE.

:pop:

I suspect a pin lifting effort with the power on.

Did the dental pick survive?

I'm not sure why everyone complained about the original kbox. I bought one for less than $20, to begin down the replaceable battery road, and it is a great little device! It doesn't feel cheap to me, I know you can't fine tune it, but for a run around mod I'm really liking it!!
