JOYETECH eVic VTC Mini

OR

iPV D2

Which one should I get???

Can anyone comment on which one might be better that may have tried both? I'm mainly interested in temperature control vaping. When I use variable wattage mode on my mods now I rarely go over 15 watts, usually vaping @10 to 13 watts, not cloud chasing. Currently using kanger subtank mini & subtank plus tanks. I'm not concerned with tank overhang on the devices. I already have iStick 40w TC.

JOYETECH eVic VTC Mini
OR
iPV D2
Buttons - VTC by a little bit
Hand feel - D2 by a lot
Display - VTC
Menu - VTC by a little
Battery door and overall construction - VTC
Hand feel - D2 by a short mile
Regulation - Toss up; both good
Upgrade-able firmware - only VTC
Hand feel - D2!
Finish - VTC
Reported, but questionable, problems - VTC has more; D2 better
Hand feel - D2

I really wish Joye had rounded off the battery side of the box like the D2 or the iStick TC or Kanger SubMini.

BTW, your vaping profile is a perfect fit for TC. TC is not for cloud chasidiots. Benefits: smooth even vape, longer wick life, maybe longer battery charge life. Downside: increased complexity. I would highly recommend a rebuildable atty rather than plug-in coil heads for TC.

Just my opinions. YMMV.

Thank you for the reply!

Why couldn't they go with the micro-B socket USB charging port on the iPV ?? Grrr..... that's the only think I'm reluctant about with ordering the iPV D2... Don't want to have to have several extra cables for at desk, in car, when traveling, bedroom, etc.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that because I always charge with an external charger with any mod that isn't limited to internal batts.

Did I mention the feel of the mod in the hand?

I have the VTC mini and I know that the D2 is real close to the width/depth figures of the kbox mini, which I have. 2nd all the 'hand fell' of VTurtle... :) While the VTC mini is also close on the width/depth, the squared off corners make a negative difference, but that would be if you held the mod in the fist. Holding it otherwise - finger tips and thumb - wouldn't be as big a factor. I like the TC controls/screen on both the VTC mini and VT. Nice strong magnetic door similar to the Kbox mini.

What rebuildable tank atty would you recommend?

I mostly use KFL+v2, but there are oh, so many good ones.

I'm waiting for the one with the itty bitty laser, or itty bitty microwave circuit, that atomizes your juice instead of using a coil and wick, and works for 3+ years with no maintenance and no gunk. Maybe a quick rinse every 6 months or so. Then, every VW mod will be TC.

Oh, and it should have an air intake injection system that never, ever leaks!

And maybe v2 will have a built-in coffee maker.

I fall in the KF camp as well. Easy to build, very forgiving, and as long as you keep your o-rings in place, rarely have any leaks. (Although I don't use TC, so can't speak to how good they are in that application - but I'd expect the same!)

I'll skip the coffee maker though, if I can have a battery with uh, good hand feel ;) that will power the topper for that same 6 months between rinses! Doesn't have to go the full length of the laser/wave head!

JOYETECH eVic VTC Mini

OR

iPV D2

Which one should I get???

I just ordered a VTC Mini yesterday (after considering the iPV D2).

iPV D2...apparently wins in "hand feel"...but...

VTC Mini is "slightly" smaller:

eVic VTC Mini 22.2 x 38.2 x 82...69,539mm³
KBOX Mini 22 x 39 x 82... 70,356mm³
iPV D2 23 x 40 x 78... 71,760mm³

VTC Mini has "true" buck/step-down (1W-60W)...whereas to get the iPV D2 to step-down (with Kanthal) you have to use the TC Mode and joules (or something complicated like that).

VTC Mini has upgradeable firmware where, theoretically, eVic can rectify any bugs that pop up. (They're already on Version 2.)

VTC Mini...we're only talkin' $28.89. (4 packs of analogs...which I would have turned into ashes in 2-3 days.)

Good choice. Quality build and upgradeable is a nice feature. The D2 does have one 'flat side' so when you include the Kbox mini, the Kbox mini wins the 'hand feel' category for me. The kbox mini is also lighter than the others. No TC though, but at the level of wattage some of us use, that's not a factor. The magnetic doors on the kbox mini and VTC are quite nice and an easy batt replace. I'm running three types of batts in mine - Samsung 25r, LG HE2 and LG HG2 (3000mAh thanks baditude :- )
