Oh I know, they're not 30A, they're 20A... both of which are FAAAAAAAAAR beyond my needs. 5A batteries may be "old hat" but they're still fine batteries for us tootlers that don't need massive power for massive clouds. It's like, now that there are all these super-duper batteries, people have the idea that the old batteries aren't any good, and that's just wrong. They worked fine in my mods last year and earlier this year, and they'll work fine again, though they're a little closer now to their eventual replacement.

Andria

Why don't you check on the Siegeli thread? I'm curious now.

I assumed the Zmax and Vamo were designed for batteries like the Efests but Kbox was designed for min 2O amp's, and that had more to do with demands of the mod than a person's vape style. The power requirements are different than it used to be. I got Samsung's for $6 @. If it says 2O amp min, that's not shineyitus. But I'm no battery guru.

I looked at it like running an old browser, getting onto a webpage and seeing the spinning ball of death until I force it closed because it can't handle the new requirements. Now I'd like to know.

Oy...

Since I didn't expect the tank, just the mod, I was caught off guard. I think I'm just gonna buy a couple of each kind and play with rebuilding them. But I don't have great hopes--Joyetech never made a great topper, ever. They just can't figure it out. They make great batteries, though.

There's a Vamo tank at FT that takes CLR's with great reviews.

they're all the same

.5Ω hole (3.5mm)

1.0Ω hole (1.8mm)

CL &/or CLR

:)

Thanks.

So if you use the .5 Ohm head, can you close off the airflow on the Mega to imitate the airflow allowed by the 1.0 Ohm head? Nice to have options. I usually take long lung hits - 6 to 8 seconds - on a GS-MS or GS-Tank clearo. Actually, often a MTL hit immediately followed by a long, slow direct to lung hit. I'd probably want to build around 1.0 - 1.2 Ohm coils.

I'm looking at the VTC mini as my first external battery mod - dunno whether to get the new version with the Tron or the older version with the Mega.

Not the pin--the air hole. The sub-ohm coil head gets much more air than the 1Ω one--but I don't don't understand why so much more...

Wait... Did I misunderstand your question? If so, N/M...
Yes, I meant the hole in the positive pin. My fingers couldn't keep up with my brain...or maybe my brain couldn't control my fingers...or...sumpthin' like that...

Gotcha!

My tank came with Ni and Ti coil heads, so I may give them a try... Pray for me. :D

I'm using the kanthal coil. I'll say this - GS Air coils last me longer than the Kanger coils. And with the eGo One - it's an 'extra pv' I have at my living room seat - my regulars there per flavor are HReserve, Ylang Ylang, JG, Absinthe and espresso. My flavors at the computer are Lotus and HR. However, I have Lotus in the LR as well in the eGo One - again, it's not in 'regular rotation' there but when I feel like having something different there - I'll hit it - at least twice a day, I'll vape it for a while. I've never changed (or had to change coils) in it, since I originally got it** - over 5 or 6 months ago. And the flavor tastes better than my 'normal' one at the computer - istick 30/emow.

**I did try the NI coil when I first got my evic VT, just to try out the TC function, but didn't test long before it went back to the eGo One batt :- )

On the tightest airflow setting, I have difficulty telling the difference between the the .5 & 1.0Ω heads. If you want to do direct lung inhales, I think you want the larger-holed positive pin, even if rebuilt at around 1.0Ω.

We vape similarly. I love my new eVic VTC Mini. Waiting on CLR heads for final opinions on the eGo One Mega but it's looking good. I haven't seen any real comparisons with the new Tron tank. I know they take the same heads, so airflow can't be significantly different. I'd grab whichever is more affordable unless you have your heart set on one of the new colors. I nabbed my kit for $35. I've seen the new Tron kits for $55ish. The Tron tanks seem to sell for $15 on their own.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for the advice. You got a sweetheart deal on yours. Should have jumped then, but I was still trying to figure out which battery to buy and time ran out. Best price I've seen lately on the Mini full kit is about $50, with the Tron models about $10 more. No real rush, though; my iSticks are still ok. I'll go with the .5 Ohm CLRs when the time comes.

MVS has the the kit for $44, MFS for $43 and World of Vape for $41. Good luck!

The 'Burgh, PA.
Kbox was designed for min 2O amp's

I jumped on VaporBeast's DOD for the (white) KBOX Mini.

I have lying around some Panasonic NCR18650B (6.8 Amp, 3400mAh)...which I'm guessing would not be safe to use in it?

I also have lying around some Samsung-25R (20 Amp, 2500mAh)...which I'm guessing would be safe to use in it?

Am I correct?

On both accounts, imo. I use the 25R, HE2, HE4 and I have two LG HG2 - 20A 3000mAh which are nice and put a few more hours in than the others. I don't use any others, although there are others that are usable - the right sony's for example. No efests, panos, anything with 'fire' in it :- )

Thanks for the info. Think those prices are for the battery only, though, and I kinda wanted to try those CLR heads. Full kit prices at those vendors are

MVS - $53.95, if ECF 6% off coupon is still active, then $51.79. $57.95 with Tron tank.
MFS - $54.95
World of Vape - $56.95 (out of stock)
Sweet-Vapes - $49.95, $59.95 with Tron tank.

I'll see what happens after X'mas. I'm not really in any rush, but I'll probably make a move within a month or so. It's not exactly a cheap move for me as I'll also have to buy a charger and a few batteries. <shrug>

Actually if I wanted black, the best price I've found is at Rocky Mountain Vapors. $51 (after 25% off) with free shipping.

Has this been asked before? I don't need more than 15 watts and don't need temp control -- my atty's wick well and tell me when they're low/out of juice (ok, the supposed kanthal "taste control" thing the ijoy's and maybe the j-well onyx claim to have is a little tempting). So with small TC 75 watts with replaceable 18650 battery out there for forty bucks, shouldn't I be awash in $25 options in the itty bitty low power no TC range? Where/which are they? For now the cloupor mini plus is in the lead (smallest, my #1 feature) for the vapocalypse drawer, but surely there's a cheaper option for no TC and no need for 40+watts?

Vapor Beast has the 30w Sigelei Mini as a deal of the day for $21.97 today. I have several in my vapocalypse stash and really like them:
