That certainly is a GREAT price (I paid $43 for my last one) (was worth every penny).

But...after IM'ing them...they only have the Standard (ie. not XL) lengths left...

That is good to know :) I felt these were the standards ones by the size of the cartos they mentioned fit the tanks. I did pick up quite a few because as you mentioned they are great little tanks and I paid way more for ones I have ordered in the past from IBTanked :)

I thought this might be the thread to find some opinions on the Presa 75W, but I didn't find many comments here or anywhere else for that matter (could be poor searching skills). It's the mod that I'm leaning toward purchasing, and I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any cons I should consider before purchasing.

Thank you.
I have a Pressa 75wTC. Just came the other day. I love the feel and the big button. Has some heft (weight) to it, but no more than any other well built external battery mod. I have only used it in power/wattage mode so far, have not had the time to build some Ti coils yet. Hope to later this week. I tried to update it with the Evic firmware, but did not succeed. Could have been a user error, but I am going to research more and check out that thread!! Overall, from what I have used of it, I like it.

The same can kinda be said for the Billet Box...

I beg to differ, Shawn. It can be said, but not by most B Box owners. :)

I like E-CigaretteForum Dark! =)

Of course you do!

(i have no idea what that means)

Well...aldenf...I tried the "Dark"...and it does look quite nice...at 12 NOON.

But I have f.lux installed on my PC...and when the sun goes down those dark themes are a little hard to read...

F.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.

f.lux makes your computer screen look like the room you're in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again.

Tell f.lux what kind of lighting you have, and where you live. Then forget about it. F.lux will do the rest, automatically.

flux! I love the flux, too, Gerry! It performs an auto sunset, right here on my computer screen. Very koolio!

I had a Provari 2.5 in my hands. Functional. Ran it through its menu systen, and by the time I was done with the last menu item, my thumb was so cramped...

I have nothing against the REO. I wouldn't mind owning one. But in this day and age, they are getting a little long in the tooth. Now, IF they came out with something innovative again... but as it stands, they're selling Model Ts in a Mustang world...

The same can kinda be said for the Billet Box...

Opinions are always such interesting things.

Da FLUX! It's a cool little itty bitty d'load that adjusts your computer monitor depending on the time of day. I've been running it since ECF switched over to XenForo and I love it.

Gerry described it perfectly. Here's the link again: f.lux

Thank you for your input. I do like the form factor, and that's maybe the #1 factor in its appeal over similar mods. Specifically, I see the VTC mini recommended frequently, but not the Presa. I've been wondering if there's a specific reason for that, beyond the fact that the Presa's a bit newer (at least I think it is).

Actually, the Presa has been around for a few months, in it's 40W incarnation. WISMEC did change a few things on the body as well as the internal board for the 75W. The 40W had some glowing reviews since it was the first regulated mod with the unique button, but had an internal battery and was closer to the iSticks at the time. I had considered purchasing one at the time, but few vendors carried them, or any WISMEC product.

WISMEC burst out, however, with the Reuleaux and then the Noisy Cricket and more vendors began to order them. However, the 75W Presa is still overlooked, or overshadowed.

I won one on a WISMEC Facebook contest and have been enjoying using it. It's just slightly taller than an iStick 30W, but nothing that is quickly noticeable. The screen is bright, the battery life is slightly above average in MTL power settings and you can use your own batteries. The battery door has a bit of play, unless you turn it so the W is on the bottom, but once in place it stays there. If chain-vaping, the body does heat up. The button is nice and clicky and has worked every time. No misfires. I have accidentally pressed the button when dripping using an RBA. The locking button is a nice feature if you take it out and about. I haven't run it in TC mode, yet.

I've used it as a desk mod for the past month with a few other devices. It gets used daily, and sometimes heavily and has held up well. I have not upgraded the firmware, however since I do not run Windows or Mac. If I plan on using the TC features more, I will upgrade it, but for now it's been functioning well. I enjoy the form factor and love the large screen.

Thanks @clinire and @jefsview. Very helpful feedback, and I'm glad to hear that there aren't any major issues cropping up. The Presa 75W is definitely going on my wish list. Right now I have a ipv D2 & two istick 100Ws. I like all of them, but I use the D2 most of the time just because it's so comfortable. I frequently vape at lower power, so I wanted step down, and I like the that the Presa 75W has that and that the firmware can be upgraded. I've yet to try TC, but maybe some day...

Enjoy, and thanks. I'm not a fan of things tapping on my memory constantly. I've got ENOUGH problem remembering schtuffs.

Now back to the pernt (thank you, Ed Norton) -

Update on KBOX MINI Platinum.

It arrived. It's nice, but not "all-that". Allow me to explain....

  • Weight wise, it's manageable. 135 grams, as previously indicated, vs. 120 for the black or white earlier versions. We're talking one-half ounce difference.
  • It has the big, bold display, not found on the earlier ones, which is nice.
  • The finish? Meh! It's about the cheapest block of steel you'll ever hold, and is already scratching up (12 hours later), and is an absolute fingerprint magnet. Compared the the OlaX Hero, the finish is terrible. I guess I expected something along the lines of the OlaX, given the pricing similarities, but that's far from the case.
  • For those who are sensitive to such things, my power button has a slight rattle (which is not the case on my white one).
Overall, I like it. I'll use it, but it will definitely be a "beater". If someone asked me which to get (Platinum vs. black/white), I'd recommend the latter.

Now, where were we again? Oh yes, "Fluffers"... ;)

"FLUX!" Sorry. I got konfused. :D

If your eyes are sensitive to such things, flux might help.

Can you install flux on a kbox mini?

ONE other note about the KBOXs. For some reason, on both units, I get an occasional misfire. I push the button, and nothing happens.

Those are a sore point for me, and could prove to be the death of my use of them (if it continues). I'm using two different tanks (one Cero and one Silo Lite), so I know it's not the tank.

It's not often with either, but it DOES happen. I'll have to keep an eye on that. No misfiring device has ever lasted too long with me, regardless of how much I liked it when it did fire. I NEED to KNOW that it's going to fire when I press the button.

Allowable exceptions? None.

Yea I guess if it didn't fire that would defeat the purpose of buying the mod. For that reason, I'd be tempted to return it if possible. You might have better luck with a replacement. Misfires are not acceptable.

That's sad, overall. It looked lux in pics. A well built solid mod in ss with that form would be a good seller IMO. The original Kbox had such steller reviews for an under $2O mod that I thought Kanger would keep that reputation going. It seemed like this might be their flagship model but not with the issues youre having.

Thanks for being the guinea pig. Back to my opinion of not buying version 1 from Kanger, even if it looks like it's only an upgrade.

I'm holding off on final judgment because I really do like the form a lot. And, since nobody else seems to be having the misfire problem, it's possible that it's me. I'm holding it "differently", for my own comfort. I'm laying my thumb across the button, which MIGHT be the issue. Maybe I'm not getting it right when I push it.

I'm keeping an eye on it to see if it's the mod, or if it's me (wouldn't be the first time I was at fault for something).

As for the finish, it's entirely possible that I got spoiled by the surprisingly good finish of the Hero. The KBOX is still a stainless mod, at a very good price, so...

The story remains incomplete (for me). I repeat though that I do like the mod. I'm using them both more than I thought I would. At least for now (a vaper's prerogative) ;)
