I bought a new itty bitty mod. It definitely fits the specs required for this thread. It's 80mm high, 50mm wide and 22mm thick. Way under $100.

Are you ready? It's the smok Gripper VV:D

I know, it's made out of plastic, has durability issues and is very out of date.

Madvapes is having a sale right now so the price is marked down to $9.99. I had some reward points (because they messed up a previous order) so I got $5+ dollars off my order.

I got it yesterday and I'm impressed with how well it vapes with my clone GS Air MS @4-5 volts.

I know it will eventually break but I've got some ideas for the circuit board when that happens.

I comes with an Ego/510 adapter that stops the tank from wobbling.

If you carry spares, though, do so safely, and protect them from short circuiting. Any metallic object coming in contact with loose batteries could cause short, which is bad. I use silicone sleeves on mine, but have also used a wrap of electrical tape to cover the terminals.

BOOM!

Yep, best to avoid that!

Goodness! I remember those! I still have at least one that still works! lol! Don't have the adapter thing for the tank, though....I don't think? I had the older models without the little hump thingy where the tank goes.

Since they're JT's newest...if you decide to try a Cubis...you'll probably want to get a Cubis PRO...

CUBIS Pro Atomizer - Joyetech

..

Just spent some time checking this out and the various coils. Looks really impressive. Thanks Gerry!

So since the pro is pre-order I assume you have the regular Cubis. And which coil/coils are you using?

It was an impulse buy. I had the reward points so I was looking around Madvapes for something to use them on. I'm not regretting the purchase since it works surprisingly well.

I read through most of the Gripper VV users thread. Lots of familiar names there. I think the thread was abandoned in 2013:D

That "hump thing" is one of these. They started including one because people were complaining that the 510 was wobbling.

Well Kent...as a MTL Tootle Puffer (No TC)...I've been quite satisfied with the 1.5Ω Clapton Cubis coils.

Until I ran across the "approaching" Cubis PRO...I was in the process of replacing my GS-Tanks with Cubis's.

Their vapes are similar...but once I Top-Filled the Cubis a couple times...all that topper-removing-from-mod/Bottom-Filling/rescrewing-topper-to-mod of the GS-Tanks began to become a PIA!

I also use the 0.6Ω Cubis coils in my eGo AIO.

For a $15 tank/battery (fixed voltage) combo...which is barely bigger than my GF's lipstick...the AIO gives me a surprisingly enjoyable vape when I'm out and about!

(As always, of course, YMMV...)

Hello, Gerry. :D

So, this looks good, but I'm trying to avoid tanks with replaceable coils--at least for now. Have you tried their RBA coil?

Well I made the plunge - Heaven gifts are having a 15% off during their holiday which ends tomorrow, plus my "Golden" status there as well as the 'bulk buy' options where buying some Cubis pros and coils that go with it, gets you the bulk buy price.

I grabbed some Cubis pros (black! which will go well with my Kbox topboxes and Defender black waves :- ) and LVC Clapton coils as well as the BF coils and also got the AIO - with a pack of 1.0 coils. Wondering how the 1.5Ω coils would work with them (the .6 and 1.0 are recommended). We'll see :- ) I was impressed with the eGo One - the way it handled a lighter flavor - ylang ylang - with the 1.0Ω coils - something that doesn't 'compute' for me, but the results are unquestionable. I'm hoping the AIO performs similarly.

The top loading and the top air control look like winners for me. My subtanks afc were their downfall as far as leaks go but haven't had that problem with the GS Airs.....

I still don't know the difference between RTA and RBA. I typo'ed when I asked.
Hmm... semantics, really.

RBA means Rebuildable Atomizer.

RTA means Rebuildable Tank Atomizer

RDA means Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer

RDTA means Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomizer

Technically, the latter three are ALL RBAs. However, RBA, for some, has come to mean a singular head used in a tank (CLR head or TF-CLP head, for instance), or a replaceable deck (such as those used in the Dripbox).

Make sense?

Yes, thanks. So some tanks can use several different heads? Something like that?

Take the TFV4, for instance. You can purchase several different disposable heads for it. But, you could also purchase an one of 5 rebuildable heads... RBAs. There's the TF-R1, TF-R2, TF-CLP, TF-CL3, and a dual coil Velocity deck head made by Smoant that will fit it.

Thanks again, Shawn.

Do both RBAs and RTAs have built-in decks for building, or do you need a separate deck with either?

RBAs are typically removable. RTAs usually are fastened in.

A TFV4 uses RBAs, but a Crius is an RTA.

There are exceptions, but in those cases, there are no other coils (aside from other decks) that can be used. The Moonshot comes to mind...
