Oh, c'mon, DP. Your Ola is pretty darn close! (Well, as long as mass isn't part of itty-bitty!) :vapor:

I think it is too, David, but I see these things that look like thumbnails today, and, well... (SO outdated!). ;)

I have something itty bitty. But I'm not supposed to talk about it here.
(I used to have mid-sized, but then I got old.)

I'm not useless; I'm just less.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

This thread has been way to quiet. I don't really have anything new on the itty bitty front so here's a picture of me blowing a cloud :vapor:

Capt...if I were as handsome as you...and I DTL vaped...I'd post a picture too...

But...I'm not...and I don't...so I can't...

Hello there itty bitty nation! :)

I hadn't logged into ECF for months on end and finally came back and found a whole new world of vaporizers! I want to delete "ECF Guru" from my avi and replace it with 'ECF Newbie in Perpetuity':laugh: I've been vaping a long time, but nothing technical sticks!
I couldn't make up my mind on how to learn more about the new APVs out there and then I found this thread. And I've gotta say:
1430037240_6e94fb40a2.jpg

as well as the OP, the lovely & wonderful @Katdarling

I started at the beginning of this thread but decided to fast forward to the beginning of June. I've seen lots of cutie patutie itty bitty mods here, and I've created a shortlist of those I think I'd really like such as:

-CFIV
-Vaporesso Target and Target Mini
-Wismec Presa 75wTC

But for someone like me, who has vaped REO & VV Provari at 5v with a standard cartomizer tank for over 5 years, these cutie patutie mods with their wattage & TC & coil tanks intimidate me. I'm not sure what the equivalent wattage/ohm should be, and whether I will experience the warmth and hit I've come to love

What I am sure about is that I'd like a kit, with everything ready to go, and no coil making, ever! Do those on my shortlist look like they will fit the bill?

Thanks in advance for your feedback :thumb:

PS: Is there a 2016 version of the itty bitty mod spreadsheet? :D

PPS: @Katdarling, I loved your post on Tootle Puffers!

PPPS: @Capt.shay, Hi Captain, I would love to vape a cloud like that at least once! :D:thumbs:

Hi, Delilah, welcome back :)

Any of those would be fine choices, although on the CFIV I'd suggest the removeable 18650 version, better for future-proofing. Keep in mind that those are all just power sources, what goes on top is up to you.

All would work fine with your current carto tank setup. Just put any of them into power mode, start around 7 watts and work up in say half watt steps to get the vape you want. Don't worry about how to convert anything.

I pretty much run all rebuildable toppers, so can't suggest any that fit that criteria of yours. I'm sure others will be along with some recommendations :)

Hiya @DavidOck, nice to meet you:thumb:

I had no idea my old school carto tank would work on any of the newer pvs on my shortlist! ...put on power mode and start from 7w... put on power mode and start from 7w... heeeheeeee! Thank you:thumbs:

I'll stay tuned for more feedback.

Thanks again - hope to see you here tomorrow. Goodnight :)

Delilah, it's a bit like starting over, isn't it. We'll help you find the path that suits you. Yes, it's going to be a bit different, and you may even opt to retire some kartos on the way, but we'll help you make it work for you.

I'm STILL a low wattage, higher resistance, MTL (mouth to lung vs. direct lung/clouder) vaper, so I DO get it. And I have always and still love and use my Provis. I have a veritable stable of 'em!

It's completely understandable to me that you don't wish to build coils. I get that. In all honesty tho, IF IF IF coils dry up, there really is no choice but to learn to do it. I was ADAMANT about staying with kartos and pop in coils, but a few months ago, we took the plunge, bought several thousand Kayfuns, and learned to roll a little wire into a simple spiral, and stick a piece of cotton inside it.

It's not that bad! Honestly, it's not that difficult. The mind says "no", but the heart says "just try it". There are a bazillion YouTube vids you can watch (til you're blue in the face) to see how other people do it. And you don't need to do it well. You'll be very surprised once you let go and stick one toe in the shallow end. :D

In answer to your question, the spreadsheet (ha ha...... lots of old jokes there) is now public domain, so no, there is no 2016 version. Everyone is welcome to add and contribute.

For your short list, I like the Cool Fire. Innokin has proved themselves worthy of much attention and applause. DPL and I are getting the 18650 model, which just makes sense (to have swappable batts).

You MIGHT want to look at interim tanks like the Nautilus tanks (there are standard and minis). They take Aspire coils which are kwite good.

Thank you for the compleeeeeeeeeements on the TPuffs thread. That one has my heart as well. <wub>

Ask away. Everyone here is knowledgeable and helpful, friendly, warm, funny as hell, and just the best crowd.

Hugs~

Hello there itty bitty nation! :)

Welcome back, Delilah! Long time! :)

Great mod--but I recommend the CFIV 18650 version with replaceable battery. Just in case. You'll also need a charger (Nitecore and Xtar are very good and inexpensive).

-Vaporesso Target and Target Mini

I only tried the tank (I won it in a contest) and didn't care for it. Ceramic (?) coils, big airflow, not my thing. The mod looks funny, reminds me of a small power drill I have...:D

dsc00408.jpg

Anyway, if want to know more, check this thread:

75W Vaporesso TARGET 2 VTC Kit with Ceramic cCELL Coil

-Wismec Presa 75wTC

Just got one. Nice but has an oddly "cheap" feel to it. Strange, because it's a great little mod.

Check also Kanger Kbox mini 75W, Eleaf Pico (tiny little thing), and maybe Joyetech eVic VTC mini.

As for atomizers, there are so many out there, it all depends on your vaping style. I'm an MTL, low wattage person and I can build my coils, but if you prefer blister packs, Kanger Subtank mini is a good place to start--it's very versatile and it comes with many kinds or premade coils that are suitable for high and low wattage vaping and TC, as well as an RBA deck (if you ever need to make your own). I use Aspire BVC coils in my Subtank with great success. Another nice and versatile tank is Ego One (or Ego One Mega V1 or V2)--just throw away the coils the tanks come with and buy some CLR heads--those can be used as is, but they can also very easily be rewicked and/or rebuilt. Try both the 1.0Ω and .5Ω coils.

Good luck!

Sure will! Anything with a 510 connection will work. So you can adjust to a new power source while still using your old and familiar toppers, and have them to fall back on while you're figuring out the new ;)

VW - watts - is much like the VV - volts - that your Provari provides. Except in VW mode, once you've found the setting that works well for you, even if your topper resistance changes the mod automatically adjusts the voltage for you, within the device limits, of course. Only need to change it if a particular flavor tastes better at a different setting.

Hello there itty bitty nation! :)

Hey D, welcome back. I've wondered where you had gone. I've missed your funny post. :D

Out of the 3 mods you mentioned, I only have the Presa 75W TC, 2 infact. I use both in Power mode. It may look funny but that whole front panel is the firing button so all you have to do is squeeze the mod. No fumbling around for the button. I love them for that and for their performance.

I know you don't want to build your own coils but I agree 100% with what Katdaring said. You may not be able to get cartos or replaceable heads in the future so you'll have to learn then, so at least stock up on the supplies (32 ga wire, medical grade cotton or rayon). That's really all you need because I'm sure you have screwdrivers, drill bits or needles to wrap the wire around to make a coil. It's just trial and error after that.

And don't just get 1 mod, get hundreds. They don't last forever ya know. ;) Along with the Presa 75W I would recommend the istick 40w, Balrog, IPV3, Kbox mini, & Punisher. Those are the only itty bitty mods that I have. The rest are itty bigger.:D The istick Pico seems pretty popular but I haven't tried it so I can't recommend it but a lot of people here have.

It's so good to hear from you again. ;)

Hi and welcome Delilah. The blister packers will be along shortly to help.

Lovely name Delilah, reminds me of this song...

Hi @Woofer, Blister-packers?! So if I get premade coils I'm a Tootle puffing blister packer! Sounds tough! NOT! HEEEEEHEEEEEEEEE!

Enjoyed the pointer sisters - thanks! :D I love this 'Delilah' songs as well:

((((((((((@Katdarling)))))))))))))))) Tight huggles! Thank you Kat -- somehow when you explain the coil-making it doesn't seem THAT bad! I'll start with my little toe in the water first with the premade coils, even though I've read that lots of them are inconsistent and DOAs! Thankfully, I found you guys and will follow your recommendations wholeheartedly

Hiya @Katya :D
I've had a hard time shortlisting - I want all of them :laugh: But I will control myself and just get one to see if I can enjoy tootle puffing the new way - Thanks for your suggestions -- they will be on my new wishlist :D

Which coil gives a warmer vape, the 1.0 ohm or .5 ohm?

Thanks so much @DavidOck :), I can't tell you how many charts I've looked at to try to get a sense of how to convert my 5v at 3ohm into the new vape style. I'm thinking the lowest ohm coil at a yet to be determined wattage will probably give me the warm vape I like(?:?:)
I don't care for airy draws :nah:

Yep, I've peeked in now and again but haven't started posting till about a month ago. Wow, so much has changed in our old forum threads, and with these new type of e-ciggies! It's taken me a while to wrap my head around it -- Thing is, I thought I'd give up vaping by now - but I'm still at 12mg nic and enjoying it and there are so many new toys :danger:casting their spell! I've read that nic should be reduced to half due to the volume of vapor produced by these new APVs. So it seems I have to reduce my nic before I use the new setup?

I know you and Kat wouldn't steer me wrong and that eventually I will have to get all fidgety with coils & cotton... sigh... but not yet

Thanks to all of you I feel better about making this transition

You only need to reduce your nic if you plan to subohm (below 1.3 ohms or so). When I did MTL I was vaping at 12mg. With subohm and lung inhaling I vape at 3mg. I don't see you doing either of these so if you build your coils at say 1.7 ohms & MTL (mouth to lung) you will do fine at 12mg.
