I had made a poll on "Premature Atomizer Failure" that was moved to the "Experiment Section". Unfortunately, not that many people participated in the poll to give any conclusion.

This is a poll for people that have had successful long life atomizers. One that I have yet to experience.

Long life success would be considered above a month's usage.

BTW, it is considered that particular base if you cut it with that particular cut. IE PG liquid cut with VG would be VG base and vice versa.

The one I'm using now was Christened at the end of January. She has been given time off every now and again for a day or 2 soak in alcohol. All of the paint is gone and the metal band at the bottom has long cracked off, but she's a gamer. Home made USB pass through on a 5.2 volt 1000 mah AC to USB converter.

Ive been vaping PG-Johnson creek on my original atomizer(03/20/2009). The model I have is the Intellicig Evo, I did get the white kit first then the black, but I use the original white atomizer I started with. I do vape consistently through the day and use 4-5 carts per day. Once every 2 weeks I soak the atty in Coke/Pepsi overnight. Then boil it in water for 10 min to remove any residue, rinse and dry . Still getting excellent vapor.

After reading about some of the issues some people had with components I had ordered 6 extra batteries and 7 extra atomizers(6 batteries and 7 atomizers unused except for testing for DOA). I think I have enough Evo hardware for the year - LOL

we could also do with a poll to see if any particular 'type' of atomizer appears to last consistently over a month as well. Even with all the varables if enough people participated it should give a fairly good idea if there is one type that stands out from the rest. I can't even vote on this one because I haven't had one single atomizer last for anywhere near a month.

Have been through 7 penstyle atties since beginning of March. Carts and topped up carts, no dripping. Some foul cleaning cycles.

But the 4075 mini atty I use for approx 2 hours every single day is the original one, not much short of 3 months now. I have used fruit flavoured liquid in topped up carts with it. No foul tastes. That is quite a good record: although it isn't my main e-cig, it is a daily one.

Hope this helps.

I've bought 12 x DSE901 atomizers (TW) between end Jan & end March 09.

22 Jan 09 : 2 atties + 1 in starter kit
28 Feb 09 : 3 atties
1 Mar 09 : 3 atties
25 Mar 09 : 3 atties

(+ 3 x titan atties + 1 in titan kit,
3 x supermini atty + 1 in supermini kit,
not used these much).

Had one that I blew (during the 'inexperience stage'), ignoring this one...

Five brand new ones got sacrificed to experimentation.

The rest I'm still using in rotation, including 1 or 2 the originals,
so minimum life 2 months, maximum life (so far) 4 months.

PG on standard battery.

But then I am a relatively light user compared to some here,
settled at about 50/50 with real cigs,
so probably about 1 ml TW cherry/banana/DIY juice per day.

Did the DIY Lorann/36mg thing for a while,
but this has dropped away recently.

(I think you can guess what cleaning regime I use).

PS: also gone over to 'dripping' only now.

Same here Pete...I can't even vote on my own poll. Never had an atty last more than two weeks.

I thought about polling which attys seem to last the longest. Need some help here listing all the available ones.

From Elendil's post on "pics of most models", I've come up with the following:
1) DSE 901/mini/RN 4075
2) DSE 801/RN 4072/penstyle
3) M401/M402/M403/EVO/Pilot
4) Joye 510/Janty Dura(c)/Yeti/Titan
5) DSE 601/pipe
6) DSE 701/cigar
7) DSE 103/super mini
8) Janty Stick
9) Janty Kissbox
10) KR 808/ Vapor King/ VK
11) RN 4081
12) Mini Pipe

Did I miss any? Feedback welcomed...

Cool Pete...changes made. I'll give it a little time before I post the poll. This will give people a chance to chime in on what atty I missed on the list. Only got a couple slots open..max being 15.
The difficult one is that there are some atty's with variations... things like extra holes and stuff...I think there is a RN 4072 and a RN 4072B and the difference is the number of holes

So what qualifies as long life then ?

If I estimate 3 months ave life, rotating 6 atomizers,
thats only 2 weeks 'duty cycle' per atomizer, right?

Presumably you're saying that doesn't count (yet)?

Hi exo....it does make it difficult when people rotate. I have seen quite a few people saying that an atomizer has lasted them for a couple of months when it turns out they have been vaping with several different E-cigs for the whole time.

Could quantify my 4075 life so far as 180 hours.

Exo--IMO--that is the way I would look at rotating. What really is occurinng is what you stated here--a 2 week duty cylcle------Sun

We use DSE 901s.

I've been rotating 2 attys since April 2. Hubby rotates 2.

I use about 4 - 4.5 ml fruit flavored juice a day. He uses about 3 ml tobacco flavor.

Every Friday night I drip unflavored juice, 2 drops on the atty, put it in the manual passthru and heat till red hot. Let it cool completely then do it one more time.

After all are cool I put in a vodka bath in the ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and let it set for a movie or 2. Then in the Styrofoam holder to dry overnight.

No problems at all and they still vape good as new.

HTH ~ P

Edit: I use a manual switch passthru all day every day. He uses the regular battery at work but works from home 2 days a week (and weekends) so about half and half for him. I have noticed his produce less vapor over time than mine do. I really think the getting hotter with the manual switch saves them. Kinda like a self-cleaning oven, if that makes sense.
