First of all I want to start my introduction with a big thank you. All of you on this forum have been a huge help to my success of kicking the stinky habit. I owe you all a big thank you. I finally decided to open an account on here to "pay it forward." Over the last couple of months I have learned a lot of things, mostly through trial and error of course. I want to help others like you all have helped me.

My names Matt and I'm from the great state of Michigan GO BLUE! I smoked for 12 very long crappy years. I work in a factory for the big three auto industry. Smoking was like eating or drinking in my environment. It has been extremely tough to quit. The positive reinforcement I have read on this forum, the support my girlfriend and family has given me has pushed me to break the habit in half. I am very grateful for that. My mother has many health problems including emphysema, something I do not ever want to experience. I'm hoping that I can get the ball rolling on posting here and get some tips and give some as well. Sorry for the rambling and odd structured post but I just worked 13 hours I'm tired :D.

P.S.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Hey Unseen, I have recently come out of lurkdom, myself. I am also from Michigan, we are lucky to have some great juice and hardware vendors in our state. I love that I am able to support the local economy instead of big tobacco, now.

This forum has been really helpful to me. Late at night, when I would usually be smoking, I find coming here and reading (PV in hand) makes the rough road a little smoother.

Matt, we have Mister E's in Grand Rapids (I'm still really new at this, but so far, I buy all my juice from them). Ahlusion just opened up a cafe and vape lounge in Swartz Creek. I haven't tried their juice yet, but I understand that it is top notch. There's also a shop that just opened up in Clawson called Vaporcraft. And yes, GLV. When I upgrade, I plan to go there.

Good luck Matt. I started out at 1 pack a day to 5 analogs a day the first day I started vaping. I'm not perfect yet after 20 years of smoking those analogs, but I've found that vaping is the best way to quit those things. Never even thought that I could get down to 5 a day. As a general warning, you probably will not find a tobacco flavor that will help those urges.

Caffeine and alcohol are triggers that can bring you back to analogs. It's not a science to any means and nobody is perfect.

I actually drove out there to Grand Rapids a few weeks ago. Great people and an amazing product. Where is Ahlusion located? I'd love to go visit them sometime.

That was the hardest thing for me honestly. But not lighting up and having a cup of Joe is pretty brutal sometimes lol.

Well I, for one, am happy to see you all here and giving vaping a go. Some find it harder to quit, I found it very easy and I would smoke about 25 cigs a day for the past...hmmmm let's just say many many years lol. I have tried many times to quit and have failed each time. I have now been quit for over two months and I feel wonderful. I was diagnosed with COPD not long ago which was what made me want to quit. Thanks to this forum and these people it has been much easier than I thought. I don't think I could have done it without the support of everyone on this forum. I'm so happy that y'all are here, welcome!

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It is amazing that you quit though. I am on my horse with spinners and mini novas trying to force my vape crusade through my family lol. Wish me luck.

Congratulations man. The worst is over. You'll come to enjoy this heaps more than you every "enjoyed" the analogs. Get creative, and Vape Happy!

I'm working on it! I'm still searching for that perfect vape after 3 months of vaping lol. I really enjoy this Grey Matter from Mister-E though must try in my opinion :vapor:
