Welcome!! fasttech has a stainless steel version: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004394/1350600-vamo-vivi-voltage-adjustable-rechargeable-electron It's only a bit more expensive. I ordered one for a backup.
vamo is a good buy....exhale vapors has them cheap....spend the extra 5 or 10 on ss, fasttech is reliable these daysView attachment 213828
I am thinking of picking one of those up, any good canadian dealers for it?
I ordered this deal a couple of days ago from fasttech - can't wait to have it. I'm getting a little tired of these eGo-C's and their limitations. I was really confused about which model to get - some are different finishes, some have different battery configurations, and a different charger. I ended up just getting the one that someone first posted (the chrome model with the nitecore charger and 18650 batteries.)
I'm also waiting on an eVic and protanks. Ughhh the waiting is the hardest part!
Thank you all of your input and suggestions - please feel free to continue with your thoughts and comments! It does sound like this Vamo kit is a great deal. I may have to rethink the black option in favor of the stainless model due to the issues previous posters mentioned. Stainless is OK, but my preference would be black, although I believe I could buy a J wrap for it, yes?
I am also considering the Sigelei Zmax v3 (telescoping) instead of the Vamo. I'll have to find the link for the kit I was looking at online. I have seen one in person and used it and it does have a large degree of appeal also. Definitely like the angled head more than then flat top model. The telescoping feature is nice too along with the battery flexibility options. The OLED screen seems to be pretty nice as well.
Back to the Vamo - can I use the other "in between size" batteries in it (I think I've read about 18490 and/or maybe 18500?), or just either the 18650 or 18350 types?

With the Vamo you have two battery options: 18650 or 18350. I recommend getting two sets (4 total) of the 18350’s. You can reduce the physical size of the Vamo by using one 18350. Or use it in full size using two 18350's. Using two 18350's gives you a little longer vape time over using one 18650. I have also read that only by using two 18350's can you reach the full 15 watt power output of the Vamo.
I also just saw in pbusardo's video that IF you use the one 18650 battery, there's a bit of a rattle (extra space in the tube) but IF you use two 18350 batteries, there is no rattle (the batteries fit snug.) Hence, I just ordered several 18350's from fasttech. I really wish I had gotten the SS one - it was mentioned in the review how easily the chrome finish scratches and gets thumbprints.
Your story sounds very similar to mine. I have been vaping for a couple months and moved up to my Vamo from an Ego 650mah passthough. Best decision I've made in vaping so far has been the Vamo purchase. For the price I don't think it can be beat. I would recommend the SS version. I do construction, and my SS Vamo and Protank are with me all day long and are still looking like brand new. I've had them for about a month now. One thing to remember also, if you plan on using your T3's on the Vamo, you will need a 510 to Ego adapter. They do not fit on the Vamo without it. Another suggestion would be to look into a 18350 battery or two for when you take the Vamo out. 18650 mode is quite large, where as the 18350 mode is more pocket friendly.
You see that's the second time someone has said something about vamos in general that doesn't apply to mine.
I can use a T3 and EVOD on mine with absolutely no issues what so ever. Maybe I got a clone of a knockoff of a copy of a vamo.
