I have both an eroll and a ROK. Both are decent.
But for home use I really would recommend getting a bigger mod. There really is a huge difference. When I started vaping I started with a normal 510 starter kit and it was fine. But not until I started using them with a 24mg e liquid did it keep me off normal cigs.

When you get used to the starter set the jump to a better mod will be shorter. They scared me in the beginning as well but now I really can't imagine a day with out my Provari w/Protank and my mechanical mods.

I started with Blu and all I can say is stay away from that. The flavors are good but the equipment is overpriced and junky. I have tried my friend's wife's Joytech e-roll. Puts out good vapor and is fairly easy to use. Here's PBusardo's review.
Those two are the only 'cig-a-likes' that I've had on hands experience with. I have heard good things about the Smokeless Image Volt and the Halo G6's though.
Good luck!:toast:

I've heard really good things about the eRoll and Volt, both of which are mentioned here. I dumped a lot of money into a 510-style kid a couple years ago and just couldn't get into it, too much fiddling, batteries too weak, not enough vapor to really feel like you're smoking, which was more important to me than a device that made it look like I was smoking to other people.

Started again with a cheap eGo kit and Evod clearomizers, my smallest one sits about 4 1/2" high and is the size of a small cigar, and it works great. Got some backups of the same thing, tapered my use off the regular cigs for a week and quit completely almost a month ago.

Not sure what it is that bothers you about the size, whether it's other people's perception of you, how you think you'd feel using it, or the portability factor. I've got to tell you it's going to be a bit to get used to, but in the grand scheme of things carrying around 2 Egos (in case one tank runs out of juice or one battery dies) is a lot more convenient than a pack of smokes and a lighter.

This is a common ballpoint pen, the regular Ego battery and Evod that I'm vaping right now, and my smaller Ego battery, to show how small you can get if you want to. Whether or not you decide to start with an Ego or with a "cig-a-like" before upgrading to an Ego or an even bigger "mod" device (I'm perfectly happy with what I've got and plan to make it work for at least a few months), good luck!

You might want to bookmark this thread so 2 months down the road when you order a twist you can revisit it.

+1, from a newbie, but someone told me once, when getting into a hobby or making a big purchase, to "buy the last item youll buy first, it'll save you a lot of time and money".

For the record, it remains to be seen if I was successful doing that with this hobby myself!!!

My first kit was a 510. I didn't care for the 3 piece system at all. Thankfully I had ordered blank cartomizers along with that first order. It was very lightweight and easy to use. Pushing the button for a manual battery doesn't really bother me....makes up for the lighter that I'm not clicking. I also have 2 clean cig batteries. Hubby started with those and quit dipping in less than a week. Now he and I both have an eGo-T with clearomizers. Still have the 510 batteries and clean cigs. I haven't been able to quit analogs completely yet....but have gone from 2 packs a day to under a pack a day. The clean cig is definitely heavier than my 510. I'm thinking of getting more supplies for the 510 and clean cig to change it up a bit...maybe cut a few more analogs out that way.
