Looking for a decent RDA

I started off with a cheap EGO set up then went to a carto with a pyrex tank, just recently purchased a K100 with the kamry rda from my local vape shop. My next step is to get a UD IGO I think, but I am curious if some of the clones might be a better bang for my buck. Right now I am using a single coil setup that my local vape shop built at .79 ohms with a cotton wick. I think I want a dual coil rda next. Let me know what you guys think. Also on a side note I would like suggestions on a beginners Genesis style atty.

Beginning Genny would be the RSST. Easy Peazy. Decent RDA's will have the ability to do dual coils (1 positive, 2 negative connections), a wide enough deck to build and wick on, adjustable air flow is the most important feature, perhaps use any drip tip, easy to clean and build, not too large of a tank, which can reduce the vapor quality. The Omega comes to mind. I use the Origen Dripper a lot. The Trident V2 clone is good, etc. There are many good clones out there that you can get and learn to use and discover for yourself what features are most important to you. Vaping with RBA/RDA's is all about your coil, heat, eliquid and air flow. I like coils between about 1.0 - 1.5 ohms, using 40/60 PG/VG mixes (lower your nic on RDA's), with lots of air flow at 9 - 10 watts, or higher. Plenty of vapor and flavor and throat hit. Good luck!

I'll have to make note of this when I go for my first rebuildable... but then again, maybe not as I prefer to vape on ceramic (Silica gives me aches and pains everywhere- it's weird. But then again, if my allergist can't figure this stuff out, I guess I shouldn't expect to be able to easily) I plan to try out cotton as soon as the last pieces of my setup arrive.

I will look into the RSST when I order my IGO. I do know ohms law. I do not have an ohm meter yet, but plan on ordering one with my IGO. I've been reading all the posts about sub ohm builds, different battery types, thermal runaway, etc. I have been debating a VV/VW for a couple weeks now to compliment the RDA and genny and keep myself safe. But last Wednesday I wandered into a new vape shop in VA beach and they had this mechanical mod with the RDA and offered to build my first coil for me, so I decided to go for it. Maybe not my most thoughtful choice, but so far so good.

I personally dont like shops that will build a sub-ohm coil for a new builder. It takes time and practice to get good at it, been at it for over a year now and just now wandering into sub-ohm territory. even when I try new stuff it can be difficult the first try till i get the hang of that build. again thats me personally but with a good mod and atty you dont always need sub-ohm. many will prefer 1-1.5ohm. im currently at .8ohm and doubt i will go any lower.

My first RDA is a Trident clone. The Phoenix v10 dripper. It's dual coil, has a nice deep dish, big airflow and plenty of room to build your coils. Perfect for newbs like us. Best part? It's $20.

I appreciate the quick replies. Looks like I'm going to be getting a IGO W soon.

I think IGO-W is the way to go as a beginner rebuildable, it can be built single or double coil and isn't a huge investment. A lot of people drill out the air holes, though, they are very small.

About your side note on the Genesis style atty...they require a bit of a learning curve (I'm still learning a lot after almost 10 trials) but they are great when they work. I have an AGA T3 and really like it. Doesn't seem to leak if tipped over like others. I like how one post is a ring around the wick hole which holds the wire well when wrapping. I also like how it is a center feed so tipping the unit to keep the wick saturated isn't necessary. The only downside is the tank volume is small and no adjustable airflow.

May the force be with you,

Tanuki
