What I am looking for:

1) Already made.
2) NOT A BOX (unless it's a little more unusual than most boxes)
3) 3.7V
4) Uses 14500 batteries.
5) 510 connector.
6) Somewhere in the $50 range + or - a few bucks.

I know this is rather limiting but it goes along with the accessories I have.
If anyone knows of anything interesting, I would appreciate the suggestions.
This is going to be an early Christmas gift for someone who has expressed an interest in vaping.

There aren't too many mods I know of that run in the $50 range that use 14500, but my favorite is the Copper:
Original Hex Copper (barebones) - $52.99
Also VP2 barebone kits are $59.99 on sale right now...

I really like this site for comparing batteries on PVs Ecigarette-mods.com.

Might also check the Classified and swaps forum. :3 When I gift for first time vapers I usually hook them up with a 510 starter kit. It runs cheaper, and find that initially they can more readily identify with a standard 510/901 than a hefty PV. Also might consider something like an eGo?

In addition to the Copper, one of the few tubular mods for that price (less actually) is the DSE905, e.g., from MyVaporStore: $55 for a full kit; $28 bare bones (if you already have the 14500 batts and charger). Since it is designed for the 901 atty, you also will need a 901-510 adapter, readily available from many suppliers including that one.

The Indulgence, e.g., $60 full kit from Vapor Junction, has a similar capability but uses the 18350 battery (two of which plus charger come with that full kit).

However, if I had $50 to spend, I'd get a Fat Batt (my name for the eGO-type PVs). They're not mods, but I think you get a lot of bang for your buck at that price level. I describe many of them in this article. For ten dollars more, I think that two of the most exciting 510-based models are the INFERNO (one 650 mAh passthrough capable battery and one 1000 mAh battery) from Volcanocigs...

and the Bauway BW-510E-1300mah (i.e., two 1300 mAh batteries, longer and more slender than the Hello 016) from VaporHeads (they call it "510 Mega eGo 1300 mAh").

[NOTE: Both kits come with atomizers, cones, and of course charger. VaporHeads throws in two drip tips. See the referenced article for direct links.]

I appreciate the Ego styles but my main preference for mods stems from battery life. Once batteries stop taking a charge, they're done. With Ego type batteries, there goes the whole unit. With mods, you just replace the batteries. Much cheaper in the long run!

The silver DSE looks fantastic and at that price, it may be a strong contender!

Thanks much! :)

If the type of battery isn't as important as life, the VapeStacks from MadVapes are super affordable too. The RoughStack runs $45 for the base kit. :3 Should hold up a good long while, they take 3.7v 18350 at 1200mAh.
I've looked at those.
I am really trying to keep it at a 14500 though since I have a pile of them laying around me.
While I want to give him a nice mod, I want to keep it as inexpensive as possible do to my current financial situation.
