Nope... youre not missing anything. Just make SURE you fill the carto completely before sliding it into the tank and filling the tank up. All it takes on the poly filled cartos is a few dry / hot nasty hits to burn it and then its no good.

I will look at this-think I made that mistake with my first carto (non-tank) last night).

Always cool to see new vapers having a blast..... Awesome ! You started out with a good kit there !

My gf was looking at me like I am nuts at how excited I am to mix bacon and beer and vape it! The flavors are amazing...a few short days ago I wanted marlboro light flavor. Now I am excited for the above...and jalepeno!

I just got this:
Smoktech DCT Tank 6ml Black Delrin

Says it comes with the carto. Am I missing something?

Something to keep in mind is that even when being used in a tank a carto will deteriorate over time and need to be replaced. The tank itself will still be good, but you will need to get more cartos to use with it. You can get more cartos pre-punched that can be used with your tank straightaway or you can get a regular carto and use a saddle valve or other punching method to punch your own cartos.

Hahahaha.. I hear ya bud ! Hang on for the ride is all I can say at this point. Youre gonna find your tuste buds changing and you'll be buying juices and vaping gear from all over the place. The flavors and options are endless.

Use this method to fill your cartos.... its a no brainer. A Great Way To Fill Cartomizers - YouTube

Also.. one thing to keep in mind with using punched cartos inside of tanks. Juices come in different ratios of PG / VG. The more VG in the juice , the thicker it will be and THEREFORE will need 2 holes in the carto instead of one. and even then , you may find that you need to enlarge the holes just a tiny bit to allow the juice to properly wick into the carto.

this tool will help with that... Cartomizer Punch | InVape and as someone said earlier.... with this tool you can start buying non punched cartos less expensively and simply punch them yourself.

Personally... I dont care for the taste of cartos and what they do to the juice so Id go get a few Vivi Novas and call it a day... but hey , thats just me

@sailorman: thank you for the spot-on information.. the kit looks good.. though I don't see the Vivi you mention at that website.. that means having to pay shipping twice..

a quick question.. considering the kit on that website.. says "1 3.0 ohm high resistance 510 atomizer".. do I need to buy a cartridge to go into that or do I just drip some liquid in it and start vaping?

I had this in my mind

I like how it looks.. Isn't that called a tank?

You can drip straight into an atomizer to get started and to test juice, which is really the best use for an atomizer. Some people use special atomizers made for dripping, but it's an inconvenient way to vape. It tastes great, but it becomes a pain to do all the time.

That picture is a DCT tank. You need a cartomizer for that kind of tank. It will come with one, but you'll need extras. You need a new cartomizer for each flavor of juice. You need to replace the cartomizer when it becomes clogged. You have to either buy them with holes punched in them, or you can punch your own holes in a standard cartomizer. You have to make sure the hole is the correct size, or that there are enough holes, so that the cartomizer can remain wet and won't burn.

The site with the Vtube/Lavatube does not sell the Vivi Nova tank. You will have to order it from a separate website. It's worth it to do that instead of trying to save a few bucks and getting the headaches of a cartomizer tank like the DCT tank. Trust me. Buy several of the Viv Nova tanks if you can afford it. Buy some replacement heads in 2.8ohm. By the time one of them burns out, you'll be ready to re-coil them yourself. If you ask Gotvapes in the comment section, they will include some free wick and wire. You will save far more money with this system than you pay in shipping and you won't have to keep buying cartomizers forever. You can also get metal tanks made of colored anodized aluminum. They look really sharp on the Vivi Nova and eliminate any fear of cracking from some juice that will crack plastic tanks.

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I greet you all.

I have a vaper student and he introduced me to e-cigs. I read tons of stuff though there still are some points that confuse me. I want to start vaping at once but first I have to know what to order.

I tried a couple of his e-cigs and decided to go with the Lavatube which can be found here..

I know that this thing has 510 compatible threads.. I'll get the tube, 2 batteries, a charger, and e-liquid of my choice..

But the cartomizer/atomizer/cartridge dilemma.. What to do with that?

I read somewhere that cartomizers are only good for about 5 refills.. Is that true? If it is.. then would you recommend getting an atomizer and cartridge? How many of each?

Isn't there some kind of always refillable solution.. one that is not disposable.. one that I can clean and keep going? I don't want to be constantly ordering disposable stuff from overseas...

Thank you.

Haluk
Anything will have to be rebuilt or replaced. Personally, I like the Phoenix from GotVapes. It a combination of a cartomizer and a clearomizer. It doesnt use polyfill, it uses wicks. They are very easy to clean and last a long time. You can change flavors in them without a problem. It takes me about 2 mintues to clean them. Also, they dont melt like the vision clearomizers.

I like the bottom coil ones, though both are good.
