Howdy all.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I'm looking for a DIY calculator that does some specific stuff. Don't care if it's web based, Android or computer. (Don't have any Apple products though.) I just hope it exists!

Most calculators I've found are pretty basic, you enter ingredients, it pops out mls, drops, etc.

Is there a calc that:
  • Allows you to save recipes like a cook book
  • References flavors entered in recipes to create a searchable database
    • Like I have a recipe that contains flavors A, B, and C and a recipe that contains A, D, and F - I search for flavor A and it pops up with both recipes that contain it
  • (Above point and/or) You create a recipe, and it can reference that against your "pantry" of flavors on hand to see what you can make with what you have
  • Does the math for price per ml (not a deal killer, but handy)
  • But still has the basic idea of you enter a recipe, tell it pg/vg and nic level, how many mls you want and voila!
I use a lot of cooking recipe apps on my phone and have been spoiled. All points but the last two are things my cooking apps do and I think they'd be really helpful in a juice calc/recipe app/program thingymabobber.

Thanks for taking the time, and long live mixing! :D

Ok,here is a link to the thread for the one i was thinking of.If you download the ejuicemeup calculator too,you can import the recipes from that one to the one mentioned in this thread. This one you can list what ingredients you have, how much of it you have, and what it cost,so it will calculate everything for your mix.It also gives you the amount to add in ml,drops, and grams if you want to go by weight.
New Calculator to try | Page 3 | E-Cigarette Forum
Not sure why it links to page 3,but go to the first page to get the download link.

I have been looking for this feature also. I could not find a combination Calc and Recipe manager all in one. Some stand alone Recipe managers will allow you to input a file (drag and drop can work also) and down load the Calc data into the manager. No real problem, you just may have to do some manipulating which is a little time consuming.
See: Linux/(Windows) Gourmet Recipe Manager (Gourmet AKA) | E-Cigarette Forum

The problem with a program like Gourmet recipe manager,is, when you do a search for all recipes that use "Butter", lets say, up pops recipes with the ingredient "Peanut Butter" along with any description that contains butter. Now, if you type in "Bavarian Cream"......, you see the problem. Gourmet even has a tracking feature, something like grocery lists, that lets you know which ingredients you may need to buy/getting low on.
I'm gonna guess that what I'm looking for does not exist by the lack of responses.

The software being not smart enough (distinguishing between capital letters and mis spellings, vendor specific ingredients..etc) to decide if you want just "cream" is a show stopper for me. I think we are years away from any DIY mixer's requirement of a Calc and Recipe mgr. like your requirements or mine.

Is there any calc that you folk recommend?
I like:
RE. DIY E-Liquid Calculator Ten Flavors Plus PG/VG Adjusting This calc. is for vol. only.
It's Web based and stores your data in the cloud. If your computer dies, you should be able to access your data.
I additionally keep the same/duplicate "master" text recipes along with notes etc. and upload them to a cloud base saving server as a secondary back up (computer stored, cloud drop box server type stored and calculator stored-3 places).

If you have any additional questions, just hit "like" at bottom right hand corner and I will get back to this thread.

Thanks for the tips. I'm actually on hold at the moment for getting up and running with DIY as my household is running a bit tight right now. Hopefully I'll be able to get first orders and whatnot in by end of summer and will be looking at calculators more then.

Right now, I'm making due with stretching our juice supply with high nic cut with VG from Wally World. Not the greatest, but it'll work for now.
