i can't get over how fast everyone is replying. Thank you.
I'm currently comparing

happyvaper and litecigusa and vapor4life

in terms of ordering/pricing/shipping.

It seems that litecigusa has great prices on the KR808d-1 and it comes with prefilled cartomizers but they don't seem to sell prefilled. which is something i think i need. i'd like to try a few different types and order them along with my first order. i am really not thinking that i want to order liquid and refill anything.

any thoughts on the volt from smokelessimage.com?

for the OP: if you want prefilled cartomizers, it will get fairly expensive for you quite fast. a cartomizer is roughly half a pack of smokes and i go through 4 or 5 cartos a day...if i was to not refill mine, i would spend $10 a day just in cartos. so....its in your best interes to re-fill them after they run out, its easy to do...takes only 1 minute. i have both the bloog maxx fusion(which i really really like, its just like smoking a real cig) and i also have the riva 510, i love that thing also, battery lasts about 3 hours longer per charge on the riva.

It is standard KR808 technology being misrepresented on this forum as a Bloog MaxxFusion clone. I've just taken pictures of the cartos. They are the old style hard-tip cartos with the inner plastic silicone. Not even close in performance.

People who are familiar with the Bloog cartos will see very clearly that these are not clones.

Again aside from the hard tip mouth piece which smokelessimage said to me their reason is its less of a possible hazard for chocking then the soft tip..as the soft tips are always falling out... the inside construction is exactly the same, if you take it apart you can clearly see that, in addition the fact that you don't need a primer puff with the volt cartos clearly shows it is not your basic KR808d1 technology.

Are you saying the Bloog cartomizers are proprietary?

When choosing a company to go with you have to know about their warranty info. E-cigs, while gaining popularity are still a very new technology. The reason I mention this is simply because they haven't worked out all the bugs yet. I've been using e-cigs for about a year now and the best place I have found is evapors.com. They are selling Revolver products but anything you buy has a 30 day replacement policy. So if you get a starter kit from them (they sell what just about every other site is selling it just has their name on it) and there is an issue with either the charging system(pcc....personal charging case) or the batteries or the atomizers(the part that produces the vapor) you can contact customer support and they will send you a replacement free of charge and they will send you a postage paid envelope to send them the defective part back.
I would recommend their "Infinity Ion" it has been out for a while and it produces a good amount of vapor and throat hit(which is what your looking for) and it is reliable. I have used this for about 9 months and I love it. they also have an assortment of tobacco flavors as well as many other flavors. Their shipping is pretty quick. (usually 3-5 days). Good luck and happy hunting

Puck, might I add in a suggestion. Since you're in Toronto, head to Happy Vaper's kiosk (at Dr. Flea's - Albion & 27). There, you'll be able to actually see the difference in all these (yes, there are photos, but it just ain't the same). Jack and Rob are more than helpful. After that, you can make a final decision. The nice part is, there's no waiting for delivery. You take it home and charge it up.

Now, with all that out of the way, if you're looking for a cigarette lookalike, then make sure you get a pcc with you. And 2 extra batteries(? - the quantity is a guess on my part). If you sit in an office all day, get yourself a passthrough batt. Other than that, I can't recommend anything as I went a different route (went with an eGo).

From my experience (and I know it's personal), it wasn't the act of holding a cig, it was the inhalation and exhale of smoke. So what I held in my hand wasn't really a factor. I'm not saying it's not critical to you. Just providing you with another point of view that you may not have considered. One more similarity, I was smoking DuM editions, and I got DuM juice, gotta tell ya, it tastes nothing like a cig. It's been pointed out that at best, it tastes like the smell of a freshly opened pack of cigs.

And as for refilling carts/ cartos/ tanks, it really isn't that big of a deal (well, I can't say anything about cartos as I don't have any - might pick some up this weekend). Just as everything about vaping seems intimidating, it really isn't.

Finally, congrats on your decision to quit smoking and best of luck to you.

Astronomer, i hear you. And i guess as a newbie im falling into the classic trap of wanting it to be like an analogue in terms of size. So what do you use? Can you post a link to a kit you would recommend? I do definitely know that i don't want to be filling cartridges though. well, at least i say that now.

No one really answered you. This thread has gone off into an argument about who makes what blooglike carto. I'm going to contradict you a bit and say yes you do want to be filling carts and you also want to drip. Here's why. You're just starting out, you don't know what juice you like and you don't know what nic level is going to work for you and it's different for everyone. About a week in, the 24 mg juice that worked for me started making me ill. A week after that, the same thing happened with 18mg. I would have been stuck if I was buying pre-filled by the box. Filling a carto only takes a few minutes. It's also a lot cheaper.

As for non-cigarette sized stuff that is recommended. For a kit that you actually stand a chance of still wanting to use a few weeks in.

Liberty Flights usually has the best price but, they're out. So, get the Riva starter kit at LiteCigs. Unfortunately LitCig doesn't carry a lot of the other stuff. You need. Get used to that BTW. If you do this, you'll be dealing with multiple sites. Most of them are excellent. Get a couple boxes of Boge 510 cartomizers at Liberty Flights and get a 510 drip tip also at Liberty Flights. You might want to get some 2 ohm and 3 ohm in those cartomizers.

What will the above get you. The Riva is the same thing as an eGo though it's made by a different manufacturer. You'll be able to use the drip tip with an atomizer to sample juices for taste before commiting a carto to them. You'll have a battery that you'll need to change once a day at most. The price for all of the above is pretty reasonable.

One thing to keep in mind. These batteries will eventually quit taking a charge. So, if you're the type that thinks long term, consider the E-Power at madvapes. That's an eGo lookalike that uses a generic battery. So, battery replacement is a lot cheaper.

I make my own juice. So, I can't recommend vendors there. Madvapes has some of the cheapest out there but, I can't say anything about taste. Dig around, you'll find gobs of recommendations.

No matter what you get, remember that if you are depending on this to stay off cigarettes, you can't just run to the 7/11 and get more when you run out. So, once you're pretty sure you want to stick with it, you need backups for everything including chargers.

Thank you to everyone for all the advice. I ended up going to Flea's Fleamarket on sat and buying a Bloog Maxx Fusion for my wife and a eGo-T for myself. Love it. Only problem is i couldn't get nicotine as Happyvaper doesn't sell it. Jack was great btw. I think i spent more than if i had ordered online, but it was worth it to a) have it in my hand now and b) have Jack walk me through the different machines, and also set up and stuff. I've ordered some nic online so we'll see how that goes. im still having the odd cigarette (i think i've had 3 so far in the last 24 hrs but it sure beats a pack a day.) I also have to get my wife to try her bloog...she's hesitant to try it, dunno why. I've tried them both and have to say they are both great machines. I've been using tobacco flavor, with a drop or two of menthol. Looking forward to trying new flavors.

Good choices both. Many of us, including myself had a few cigarettes a day for a while. Just make sure you aren't doing anything else when you have them like watching TV etc. Be conscious of how they taste and make you feel. After a while, you won't enjoy them as much and it'll be easier to skip them.

Yeah... took me a week or so to make the full transition, vaped some, smoked some, then vaped more and smoked less, after a week I preferred the vape to the smoke so I just dropped the smoking.

I started with an eGo - T myself... I moved later to the cylinder LR atomizer and mega type B cartridge, but that eGo-T got me off of cigarettes, it is a good unit.

I know nothing about the Bloog so I won’t comment on that.

Best of luck... and stay with this forum and let us know how you are doing.

one more tip... if anyone here talks you into pulling the puncture device out to adjust the wick, and you mess it up and pull the wick out or mess up the puncture device ( like I did ) don’t throw the atomizer away, what you now have is the perfect dripping atomizer, a bare exposed coil with no bridge.

Even if you only use it to test new flavors, drop a couple of drop onto that coil and vape it... dripping onto an exposed eGo -T atomizer with the puncture plate removed is a great dripping unit. I saved one of the blank cartridges ( not tank ) with no filler to use as a mouthpiece.
